Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by teabaggins on Aug 9, 2021 14:51:40 GMT 1, Basically everyone has an assistant. I’ve assisted photographers where I should of taken more credit than the actual photographer. Even in uni there’s a couple of people who’s final work was either taken by me, lit by me, or I gave them the original idea. It’s how the world works. You shouldn’t expect the CEO of Tesco to be also packaging the bourbon cremes and down in the abattoir or baking the croissants first thing in the morning. A CEO of a company is not the same an artist. In the music industry, it's called ghost writing where you get paid to write music with no credit that another person releases as their own. It's a terrible thing. Should a Michelin Star chef be cooking every dish themself in all of theirs restaurants ?
Or are you happy enough with them putting their name on it while someone else (a unrecognized cook) executing their vision and recipe?

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Inknart on Aug 9, 2021 14:56:34 GMT 1, lol, but to post a video of someone painting an original for you... he's on another level (Pun intended) As others have said, this is not unusual - see the link below. From the Tate website, it shows one of Bridget Riley’s assistants working on a large canvas - as I understand it BR only ever works on the studies and then leaves it to assistants to complete the main works. www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/bridget-riley-1845/bridget-riley I honestly wasn't aware this many artists do this... It wouldn't make me want an original from any of these artists.

This all has me very curious as I wasn't aware of so many blue chip artists slinging second hand originals.
Do the same people support artists like Mr. Brainwash then? Or is this simply people defending artists they have share in financially?

Or are you happy enough with them putting their name on it while someone else (a unrecognized cook) executing their vision and recipe? I'm fine with that since it would be unrealistic for a single person to run an entire kitchen, and I think that part is understood when going to an establishment. What I would not be okay with is the chef going to every table and saying he cooked the entire thing himself and taking credit for the work other people did and not even acknowledging them. Is it not a parallel thought with artists that also want to produce their vision with the efficiency of a kitchen then? Are they not both art intended for human consumption? Are there great artist who you wish would create less for some reason?
Koons as an example. “ The reason is quite obvious – if he did them himself, he wouldn't be able to finish one painting a year but, with the help of assistants, every year his studio averages 10 paintings and 10 sculptures. And what about the accusations that the process resembles a production at factories? Koons says that it’s a complete misconception, and that he’s “thought for a year about almost everything before starting to make it”. Koons also says he supervises the work in person:”
As for Hirst, he publicly acknowledges the use of assistants. (Not sure why you are implying otherwise). And you need to look no further than Rachel Howard as an example of an assistant that Hirst has acknowledged as to painting his spots.
You can like or dislike the use of assistants in the artworld but that does not make you right or wrong.

If you think that art is a skill like rendering something in a medium (painting, sculpture) you'll hate Damien Hirst as he can't paint.
If you think art is about ideas, it's silly to think that the artist can execute all of their ideas themselves as their ideas would be restricted by their skillset

You cannot to the transfer directly from one MM wallet to another...not yet. I am not sure how it works if you bridge both NFTs from Palm to Eth and get rid of Palm network...and fron there you can move them to another wallet other than MM. You can also wait until they fix the transfer between MM wallets

Depends a lot on what you want to do with yours. If you want the OG on paper, then leave it on Palm. If you want the NFT or to sell it, move it to Eth

Just take his credentials and load them on your laptop - done. Its now your wallet.

“Analyzing NFTs as Social Networks Using the Status-as-a-Service Framework”
www.notboring.co/p/status-monkeys
Excerpt: “ New NFT projects can harness a potent combination of social and financial capital to get off the ground. Ownership brings social capital, utility, and entertainment. There are ever-evolving proofs of work, from figuring out the next big thing to creating brand extensions like Punks Comics to marketing particular NFTs to raise the profile of the whole collection. Punks owners have been buying up billboards in NYC, Miami, and London to spread the word. NFTs are part of the Great Online Game, and as such, the rules and opportunities are always evolving and expanding. Powerful things happen when you combine money, status, and community.”

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Wendero on Aug 10, 2021 11:26:11 GMT 1, Hi guys,
This is the story of my bad adventure. I was lucky, too, like so many of you, to be selected to purchase a DH NFT. Mine initially was to keep it, but when I saw that the sales prices were going up decided to sell on HENI, also because in the last year i have spent so much on art, i just wanted to get some funds for some particular personal needs. (it was a painful choice, I thought about it several times before doing it)
Well, I sold my NFT ... not even a high amount, a mid-price sale. When I saw the DAI on my MM wallet, instead of going to read the instructions calmly and follow the directions of Palm I proceeded directly to send the DAI on my exchange.
Moral of the story? I sent the DAI with the Palm blockchain instead of using the Ether one..... all lost .... ALL.
I contacted mine exchange, I opened a ticket with Palm…I wrote Heni..but nothing, all lost.
I really feel like an idiot, it was a simple operation, I just had to read my email and keep calm, I didn't!
Hope this will help others a do not fall into the same mistake as me.
Ok …now destroy me, that's the least I deserve.

I purchased a small amount of crypto a few months ago for the first time and done the exact same thing on a different exchange. It seems to be a common issue for new users. I raised a ticket also and had all the transaction details but never got it back. It was only $100, so was a good lesson. Have you had any response from Palm?
Hi guys, This is the story of my bad adventure. I was lucky, too, like so many of you, to be selected to purchase a DH NFT. Mine initially was to keep it, but when I saw that the sales prices were going up decided to sell on HENI, also because in the last year i have spent so much on art, i just wanted to get some funds for some particular personal needs. (it was a painful choice, I thought about it several times before doing it) Well, I sold my NFT ... not even a high amount, a mid-price sale. I'm really sorry to learn about this issue. This is mostly related to the fact that exchanges are not natively supporting the PALM network at this moment in time. Since we do not control the receiving addresses, I would recommend to get in touch with exchange's support and ask for more guidance about retrieving those funds. ——— pssss…

Once upon a time people went to galleries and exhibitions to look, appreciate, contemplate and occasionally buy art, mostly to support the artist. It's seems to have changed into an online gambling site.

dont ask here though. ask on the discord / open a private ticket and don't send any wallet addresses publicly.
