Banksy’s, by funster on Jul 16, 2021 10:28:39 GMT 1, I’m considering selling the following -
Trolley Hunters - signed Grin Reaper - signed (they all were) Napalm - unsigned Girl With Balloon - signed Girl With Balloon - unsigned Turf War - signed
What’s the best path to go down?

Banksy’s, by JFCC on Jul 17, 2021 11:42:13 GMT 1, As a view the ones I'd hold are the ones to sell, the signed ones. I'd sell Girl With Balloon signed around Christmas time in one of the larger auction print sales.
Grin Reaper and Turf War (signed) have not been up for sale a lot in the last 12 months and they'd probably do well at Forum but again much later in the year. If Trolley's is a signed white one that has not been seen at all so should be sought after?
I would keep Girl With Balloon Unsigned as there have been far too many sold in the last 18 months and it will take a while for prices to move up again. This is also true of the Unsigned prints where the auction volumes has been vast and the market has significant indigestion.
I would also try selling all of them here but you will get the usual bunch of clowns posting infantile and pointless drivel thus reducing your chances of a sale. There are however some excellent and sensible buyers here but price wise its not the best time to sell unsigned works.
Just a view!!

Thanks for this. I’m downsizing my house so intend to keep all the originals and let the prints find a new home. I’m sitting on an offer of £90k for the un-signed GWB that I’ll probably accept.

That’s a bargain for buyer.

The issue with ‘values’ is what is realistic or not - and a £90k deal away from auction houses etc is worth circa £110k + in Sotheby’s plus I won’t have any hassles, potential bad auction etc.

Banksy’s, by funster on Jul 20, 2021 12:03:59 GMT 1, Thanks for this. I’m downsizing my house so intend to keep all the originals and let the prints find a new home. This makes sense. If you're lucky enough to own originals (noted the plural) then of the prints I'd only keep the signed Girl With Red Baloon , as this is *the* iconic image that yr general public know and love. Let the rest go as above, if you're in no rush to sell hold the Unsigned for a little as the market is slowed. Good luck with the sales; wish I had a house amd collections to downsize in such a way
I think you’re right re the Girl With Balloon - it may stay, re the downsizing - the house is getting small but my mortgage is getting bigger - but the location is perfect.

Or wait for prices to recover - and get a lot more for it.
Don’t sell at the 12 month low.

I agree, although for some people a house deposit or something like that might be more important.

I would give it a few more months before selling, I know it’s tempting when you need some cash but now is not a good time. I was also thinking of selling something to pay for large unexpected works on my summer house, but what with the hassle of returning to the U.K. to sort out a sale and then the downturn in the market, I will give it a few months to see what happens. Can you maybe afford to just sell one per year? That would bring in a regular lump sum whilst keeping your options open for the future. Good luck with whatever you decide to do, I will be in your position re downsizing everything next year.

Banksy’s, by funster on Jul 23, 2021 4:03:11 GMT 1, Thanks for the messages - I’ve only just got round to seeing them and will reply over the weekend.
With reference to the prices - I’m not selling as I need the money for the new place, it’s purely a change in the collection - I’ve had them since the beginning and was here when this forum first started (Dan Silk delivered one of my first Banksy’s to my house... and went straight to the Apple store!) - the crazy thing is that since buying all of them I’ve been married (& divorced) twice and have an 8 yr old, they were never investments and bought purely because I liked them. Investment wise you never know the ‘top’ - the prices today maybe the last time - or in a year they could double - which I hope they do for the next owner.
