SOLD, by avec art on Jul 20, 2021 9:44:00 GMT 1, I think you did well to score this. The first one that went up on his site was £800 I think but that wasn't framed. Then another appears but nicely framed for £1500, that quickly sold and subsequently the last went up for £3000 and still appears to sell. Although in this opaque marketplace anything is possible.

SOLD, by FЯ on Jul 20, 2021 16:23:18 GMT 1, Also a letter of provence is not the same as a COA. There is nothing showing the letter is tied to the actual poster. No numbers or markings or anything. In my eyes, all of the letters from Laz are worthless. This ones a bit different as it was hanging in his office and his personal copy, there are photos somewhere
He framed it and the others were not supplied with this letter he sold after.
But otherwise i tend to agree with you on the bits he just buys from ebay

SOLD, by avec art on Jul 20, 2021 16:41:34 GMT 1, I don't think FЯ is suggesting that's the actual one he has. That's just for price comparison. From that perspective the price being asked is not outrageous.

Yeah, that's why I posted the link as derivative thought it was sold unframed

I expect the first load of stuff was his, then he realised he was on to a good thing and started buying to sell on with big mark ups

SOLD, by avec art on Jul 20, 2021 21:08:34 GMT 1, Laz at least has the experience to know what a genuine one looks like and he's confident enough with its authenticity to put his name to it.
While not watertight, it counts for something in many people's eyes. I think that Laz has now set the benchmark for these sort of items. It's just what it is now, can you find one cheaper anywhere now?

SOLD, by FЯ on Jul 20, 2021 21:24:40 GMT 1, Applies to most things in life. Somethings have more value than others. it is what it is.
Stanley gibbons just paid £6m for a 26mm x 26mm piece of stamp.
Its hard to find authentic banksy items through the fields of fakes. its a good entry point for those looking to get something in reach and big on the wall. not many around and not this version.
or i guess you could go for the tiny di faced tenner for the same price, of which there are thousands. again, a mine field unless you buy from laz as then at least you have some provenance
