Javier Calleja sold lots in Phillips auction, by fef collector on Aug 2, 2021 17:45:32 GMT 1, Hi everybody,
Last 30th , the online auction of Phillips finished. With Javier Calleja, the sold prices were very strange, at least for me.
Note this:

acrylic on paper 140 x 94 cms lot sold for 65,5 K$
Compare with this, in the same auction :

watercolour on paper 19 x 15 cms , sold for 75 K$ !!!! price more accord with the lasts lots sold in auctions from Javier Calleja
Apart from the fact that they belong to different periods of the artist, I can not quite make sense of the difference in price so large ... being works by the same artist and one of them being much larger than the other
What do you think? opinions are wellcome

He famous for the cartoon boys, not cartoon cloud face and rock face.
Like how Michael Jordan is hof for basketball but not baseball.

It was sold for 17500 $ , size 26 x 37,5 cms !!!!

I understand what you say about the most requested works. But it seems strange to me that when a large work has that difference in price with the small one, taking into account that it is the same artist.
