Stuff always seems to go for top dollar out there. Finding one is tough in itself and then you need to think about provenance. So many bootlegs and with no official authentication process it's big money to risk.

it's pretty easy to spot these fakes. The wood and detail would be very hard to bootleg, they also have a box.
The first time I saw this piece I was surprised by how small it was in relation to the 5YL Vinyl.

The trouble with Kaws is the "for now" part. Fakes are getting better and better. You really need original proof of purchase at least.

The trouble is they need to be numbered so he could allocate them to a person, once approved... so unless they start stamping and numbering existing toys it's just not really possible.
