Selling query, by withnail69 on Aug 12, 2021 12:41:33 GMT 1, Thinking of selling (and before you weigh in I am not a flipper) this is not a decision I have come to lightly.. Just wondered whether anyone has sold a print at an auction house recently etc.. I am trying to weigh up the 15% commission costs versus sale exposure from the auction house. Or whether something like myartbroker is a better idea.. Grateful to any helpful insight/replies. Hope you are all well and good

Depends on what you are selling doesnโt it? Some auction houses will be a perfect fit for what youโre selling so the cost will be justified.

Selling query, by Poster Bob on Aug 12, 2021 15:31:03 GMT 1, As you've posted this within the Banksy section of the forum my advice is wait at least a year, then sell in season. In season? Not sure I want to wait a year but I guess I could if justified.. Prices are down now due to too much supply. If you want the best return possible you need to wait for it to drop. There are strong seasonal trends in auction results. Spring and fall get the highest prices and they're low any other time. You'll notice lots of Chicken Littles who don't understand this basic concept crying, freaking out and saying markets are collapsing when sales are low out of season.

Selling query, by Naor on Aug 14, 2021 8:52:05 GMT 1, I can say that Forum Auctions are willing to waive sellers comission for Banksy works. I wanted to sell a piece a few weeks ago and that was the best offer around (It didn't come through because they mandate having pest control and soup cans cannot be validated by pest control so...)

Selling query, by withnail69 on Oct 5, 2021 13:02:02 GMT 1, Anyone know why people are seeking banksy prints with the POW embossed stamp on? These seem to be fetching more money. I just thought a signed edition with a COA would be important not a stamp

Thats the first time Ive heard of buyers preferring an embossed print.
