That said, I make sure all my framing is conservation from reputable framers, so I don't worry about condition issues.

As a buyer is is 100% appropriate to ask whatever questions you would like to ask in order feel comfortable with what you will be paying for. A lot of works change hands multiple times (often still in the frame) and at times the seller may have no actual idea of the condition beyond what he was told at purchase.
If the seller becomes offended or agitated by a request to validate the condition of the work I would personally walk away from the deal.

Un-framing cost seems ok.....I have had that done before around ยฃ20. Cheaper that what it would cost to package it up and send by courier?

When you pay ยฃ300 plus to pay for framing from a reputable framer he will hopefully do a decent job that is reversible if need be. It's all part of the negotiating deal. It's a judgment call which you could end up with a perfect print in a perfect frame or a cheap frame that could be used to hide something more sinister. Sorry to the OP but people are bound to ask questions.

Yes mate as a buyer your entitled to ask any questions you need too ... can I just ask if you were purchasing a framed print from a gallery (i.e a banksy) would you ask them to de-frame it before purchase? Just to re frame it again and hang it on the wall  All of my art is framed and on the wall so I can look at it ... not in a folder or in a drawer gathering dust !!! The print was in mint condition when I recieved it and then taken to my framers who framed it .... it has all the correct stamps,numbering and coa that everyone else's came with ! Personally I can't see the point of de- framing it to send if you are then going to re frame it and hang it again ? Or do you want to store it away unframed ?I will contact my framer later today and let you know all the framing details

But to answer your question....if I did purchase a high end item from a gallery and I did not like the frame they would frame it to my requirements and charge me accordingly, they are a business after all don't want to lose a sale. They would probably use the frame for another Banksy

Also when items have to be shipped I also prefer it unframed as shipping a framed item adds a lot of cost to the final price. I'm sure the condition of your item is as described and it is not a concern to whoever buys it. Posted this in the Stik thread by mistake....,
Something quite special for the Stik Collector.
I have a full set of the 4 Liberty prints (orange, red, blue, green) purchased from source (Dorian Grey) all with the same number. These are from the main run and not AP's or PP's. I was informed by the gallery that they were the only 4 purchased as a full set. I am the original owner of these, they have never been framed and I have kept them flat-filed since purchase, although they are now rolled up back in original tube for a sale.
All 4 are in perfect condition.
Whilst I do have a sound(ish) idea of the price point for each print, I am not sure of the premium (if indeed there is any!) for having the full set.
I do not want to split them in the first instance.
I will not post a pic here as we all know what they look like.
Please pm me with offers. I do not want to trade, unless it is for something pretty special.
The prints are in England (Brighton) and I will be in UK for a week in December so can do FTF then. Or can post around world if needs-must.
