Selling Banksy Prints, by jackson.earth on Sept 9, 2021 13:20:10 GMT 1, Hi - would appreciate some feedback here on selling a couple of Banksy prints which I've had for a very long time. Feels the right moment to sadly part with them. I have been in discussions with both Forum Auctions and MyArtBroker - anybody have any reviews on selling through them? Would you recommend it? Both are offering 0%, all fees to the buyer.
And would be great to know of any other (legit) routes to market that people suggest.
Thanks! Ackle

Selling Banksy Prints, by urbanflik on Sept 9, 2021 13:25:54 GMT 1, hi,
Maybe useful if you can list what prints you are selling as it may give better guidance on how to sell them.
Unsigned prints are not great at auction right now...but some, more rare signed are doing well...
You maybe best holding on a few months/years more to be fair.

Selling Banksy Prints, by I Dont Know You Know on Sept 13, 2021 8:59:53 GMT 1, 1 - Check BANKSYVALUE - its a pretty accurate guide of the market 2 - ask yourself do you need the money? do you need to sell? 3 - Market is down at the moment compared to earlier this year and running through the latter part of last year - so if you can hang on to them then consider this. 4 - decided how much you want for them - not the market - what they are worth to you. 5 - If you contact an auction house - I would only recommend Sotheby / Phillips / Bonhams 6 - the process can be lengthy - like buying a house - so be prepared to wait. 7 - ask about private sales - there are big fish out there looking to complete their collections and prefer the discreetness of a private sale - and never take the first offer - so a bit of old school haggling is good - with a private sale you will want a 'NET' price inclusive of all deductions ! and hold your nerve. 8 - never feel pressured

The key point is take your time, if you do not need the money I would personally hold and if you are selling an unsigned print it maybe wise to hold for a while as everybody is looking for a bargain as they have been over sold in the last 18 months.
I personally would not recommend Bonhams, they have lost their way in my opinion and they are place to buy at not sell, although if you do buy be very careful as their condition reports are far to "generous".
I also greatly like Forum, they are very good house, easy to deal with and quick but sadly their success and over enthusiasm for Banksy Only catalogues is possibly one of the main reasons for an over saturated market. I certainly would not use them for one of the rarer prints as the volume they have pushed through has removed any exclusive feel but for main stream solid prints they are a definitely one to consider.
If you do have a special or high end print my own view would be to use Phillips and Sothebys but do push hard against sellers premium!!
My only final observation is some of the smaller niche Galleries will often do a great job for you. Aside from the London ones, my experiences with ones in Cambridge, Salcombe and Brighton have all far exceeded my expectations and are very good to deal with!

Definitely credible.
But prices have taken a dip so donโt look at the all time highs.
If I were you I would hold on for as long as you can - likely prices will recover.
