NFT Art , by kuni on Apr 9, 2021 15:32:02 GMT 1, The prices are a shame, especially for the letters because it could have been fun to see how people display them spelling out words and stuff. Right? What the hell are you supposed to do if your name is Mordecai or Frederick? Nobody dropping $5k on 9 letters. Such a rip off, should have been $100/each.

NFT Art , by pjc on Apr 9, 2021 17:21:00 GMT 1, i'm still a little confused, can someone explain... and maybe the answer is since it's so new, the NFT market is still far from 'normal' when it comes to prices...
why aren't the costs of an artist's non NFT originals or recent limited editions not tracking anywhere near the prices that the NFT's are getting?
at some point, doesn't one version either have to raise in price or the other drop in price?
i own a few pieces of an artist that has been selling NFT's for $1mm+ and I paid in the single digit thousands for his non NFT pieces... and the only difference is that he basically automated in the most basic way what i own. and my pieces have not gone up in value as far as i can confirm.
for the people that are just taking existing pieces and tweaking them a bit for the NFT market, why aren't prices tracking closer to the Non-NFT pieces?

Real art uses real money. NFTs use internet money that some people are unable to convert to real money for legal reasons. so wouldn't that be an argument for NFT pieces to cost less if their is more of a barrier to cashing out?

Would this include leftover change from buying items of Silk Road? Lol

NFT Art , by robo on Apr 12, 2021 21:06:19 GMT 1, Don't forget the key part of using two or more separate accounts to make the transactions look authentic. You can do the same thing on eBay and auction houses, too. You just need to factor in the transaction costs and fees to calculate the actual profit.
Youโd pay $100ks in platform fees and gas so this doesnโt quite work with these figures, but to the extent it does itโs similar to Damien Hirst forming a syndicate to buy his own diamonds skull piece.

NFT Art , by jimmyjam on Apr 18, 2021 18:16:18 GMT 1, Now that coinbase went public and governments start cracking down on bitcoin...
Be interesting to see where this goes. I personally felt a major correction was due very soon. Most of cryptocurrency and NFTs are made/hyped for these ipos coming up rather than true coin value. Again this just a personal opinion.
There isnโt too much hype left for crypto unless a Apple like major company accepts it.

NFT Art , by walfredo on Apr 22, 2021 15:51:45 GMT 1, Nick Smith and Rhodes jumping on the NFT wagon... Nick Smith seems to become more and more annoying. As somebody with a few pieces it is becoming harder to enjoy them on the walls. The ego on a guy who pixilates other people's work is truly amazing....quite full of himself in the few interactions I have had with him too.

But to digitize your work and resell it... that's a low for any artist.............................. Where's your creativity. It's your livelihood to create. You're just embarrassing yourself in the history books.

There is no support for it at these high prices today. Again this was all for coinbase ipo. Bunch of Silicon Valley dude made a billion off of everyone.

Essentially someone has worked out how to create an NFT in someone else's wallet - and then assign it to someone else. In doing so it looks like a legitimate NFT through the block chain.
So he created an NFT for the $69 Million Beeple which links back to Beeple in the blockchain.

Well Tesla ,Cramer and a bunch of holders did the same at the time and took some profit out. Yeah I could be very wrong about all this. Honestly at this point I have no clue about crypto nor does really anyone. I still have some and sold a little when it was in 60s. So maybe I was wrong. Time will tell. Way way to soon for anyone to be laughing about prices when they have been stuck for months and it needed to hit a certain price on Friday. It did. So Iโm not sure if this all controlled or what. It dropped significantly but the price needed to rebound before the split which I did. But it seems so tied specifically for that. I can always buy more. Not that big of a deal at the price point honestly. The banks and holders bought a ton before last Friday before split to keep it on track. It was really important it hit above 54,000 on friday. Still a lot of major holders did take some profits out when it was 60,000s. Currently itโs still the right move to do but who knows. This all just for fun in my mind.
