Print given flat in a very strong package, the package had the number/edition written in pencil top right corner, big red logo on the front, museum details inside. The print was between two tissue papers one above and one under the print, the print isn't embossed, numbering bottom left, signature bottom right, in pencil. Print seems a very heavy paper maybe a 350/400 g. On the back of the print you find a very simple blue ink stamp with the logo of the museum.

Luckily for me, a colleague was coincidentally in Ljubljana and willing to head over and grab one for me. (I think I have used up my luck for this year and maybe the next) I am especially happy as my personal chances of scoring an Invader or similarily popular artist are slim to none online... Because on line, we read 100 ex etc, and in fact there are 1 or 2 ( I am exagerating of course but I know how galeries work, and most are all reserved before the sale on line ) ! Believe me, I got this 4 or 5 time " chance ", if we can call that a chance.
Happy for you anyway ! Was it not one per person ?

I know what you mean and agree that more often than not there are less for sale than announced. I guess here some museum staff + friends certainly scored further reducing the amount available - which in the end was only 20 per variant if I understood correctly...
I do not know enough about the Invader releases to judge whether he genuinely tries to get his works to โtrue collectorsโ. I think it was a nice move to do it in Slovenia and one per person but in the end, more will be available online or maybe going to his circle.
And yes, I definitely would not score online - I donโt know enough about the tricks of the online game ...
You are right that effort and risk are never the same for everybody! My respect was of course intended for those that put in the effort out of love for Invader and not love for money.

Yep, same thing happened with Glow in the Space. People hesitated, or even balked, at the price. I picked up IK18 pretty easily on my phone in my car after a meeting. I grimaced at the time, but ploughed on. Glad I did.
I think the Alerts will be a lot harder, if not impossible. If his site gets overwhelmed for a book release, and the market is frothy for flipped maps, books etc., then this will be a nightmare.

The only reason I didnโt drive there is 23:55 hours trip (and back once again). I was to ask a couple of days at job. But even doing that I wouldnโt have scoredโฆ
And I had a contact in Ljubljana readyโฆ but was on holidays
And had plane tickets ready to check out for today and be tomorrow at 10:00 to pick one

Why is that? Edition means edition, you cant change the number of copies after release. He has kept some copies for online drop.

When people say 100 they mean 100 across all editions (20 of each colour). |
