Banksy Bristol TShirt • Colston Four, by hollie on Dec 12, 2021 11:53:20 GMT 1, Gosh this thread got pretty mean pretty quick. Nice one to all those who scored a tshirt, through secondary or otherwise. I had a fun day at least directing my SIL around Bristol on a stinking hangover - she was “unsuccessful” but said she “really enjoyed getting out and about, shaking off the cobwebs and meeting some nice new people” Isn’t that what it’s all about lads and lasses? In a mean world, manners are free. Let’s be kinder to each other yeah? In better news, she’s got 2 bottles of bubbles arriving at 1pm today from me to help her Christmas party with her uni mates go with a bang. What’s life without concurrent hangovers eh? Have a great day everyone 😊

Banksy Bristol TShirt • Colston Four, by London Town 1 on Dec 12, 2021 12:27:54 GMT 1, Hi
Slight tangent to the topic but hopefully a nice distraction!
I have a POW Banksy roller zorro (highwayman) t shirt which I brought from the POW open day back in 2008. It was one of those which was printed in front of you. I have worn it (grey) but it's still in great condition.
I'm in no need for the money. It's more of a decision of what to do with it. What would the forum recommend? Leave it? Frame it? Sell it to someone who might be more interested in it?

Banksy Bristol TShirt • Colston Four, by ajr on Dec 12, 2021 12:34:17 GMT 1, Even with a receipt I'm afraid these will be easily faked to a very very high standard so I would not be buying here as over time the sheer number of fakes will just destroy the market. Also not a big fan of the reason these where released, with all other mental health, poverty, education issues so common now after multiple lockdowns which I believe merit more attention. Better off getting a mat, boxset or even the GDP prints which are much better in my opinion and nowhere near as easily faked.

Banksy Bristol TShirt • Colston Four, by seba on Dec 12, 2021 12:39:56 GMT 1, Since when do we give a f*ck about people tearing down statues. Seems like what happened in Germany in WW2. Banksy has lost the plot here. Enabled flippers to make some $$$ before XMas. How many homeless or addicts in the UK could use the money instead of statue vandals? #BanksyIsRich I don´t agree with your post at all. I and many think that it´s great that he raised money and awareness for this cause. If you seriously think that tearing down a statue of a slave trader is " like what happened in Germany in WW2" you should educate yourself. And following your whataboutism logic I would like to ask you: How many homeless or addicts in the UK could use the money you spent on your car or your art collection?

You sell one on ebay with the photo of the receipt;
Then you buy ( or make ) some at 22 euros etc , puting them on ebay with the receipt and all is done !
( would not buy a free GDP print, oh no )... I recevied this message under Banksy Insta this morning, it think but not sure that it's a legist one ( the girl has an insta etc etc... I won't buy it. But it seems genuine as people as her, won't pay Ebay fees etc.... )

Yes your opinion is right.
And no comparison : Welcome Mat was for refugees and the creation itself is a masterpiece.

I’m guessing there were 400 t’s at each location - total: 2000 This would make sense as the Tesco Petrol Bomb poster was a similar Bristol protest theme 10 years ago and also 2000 edition although that was only 5£ at source.
The Welcome Mat and Boxset often feel undervalued. I don’t see either having more released but the prices low due to the market being flooded.
If you’ve lived in Bristol. This t shirt is a historic reminder of the dark side of Bristol’s history. Whilst only a t shirt it’s a cool momento.

I think that is the second time that you compare BOX set and Welcomme Matt ( its not a critic or maybe it' s not you ).
Nothing to compare again.
A tee is a tee, commemorative of course and to help prisoners ; maybe you are happy to get one ( I would like too ) , yes that's the history of Bristol, and a great gesture, but why most of Bristolians ( not all of course ! hopefully ) are selling them at 800 quid et...
A lot saw in this tee ( they are not all anarchists nor against racism ) , the occasion to get a Banksy or/and to sell it.
Do you want me to show you photos were there are 6 or 10 real tees ? Nah, because it's mates. As for the Petrol Bomb who was really concerned by the anarchists ?
Anyway, as I said I don't critiic, I iunderstand that ( sale, xmas, youths, poors, etc ) , but I repeat ; the Welcome Mat - I have not, a box yes -, is the masterpiece of this century !
As the conceptual WOH stronger than a dadaist or surrealit concept ! Banksy is a genius. Dali in his times too even if he stayed a painter in the art history ! ( and a anarchist too )
In France we have had the genius Gustave Courbet that painted L'Origine du Monde ( The Origin of the World, still a scandal - look at Faveook/instagram, still forbidden ) , and wanted too ( during La Commune Courbet was an anarchist, a great activist ). You should type Colonne Vendôme and Couret in wilki english Napoleon was down !!!
" "Pursuant to the Commune's decision of April 12, 1871, the Colonne Vendôme was demolished on May 16, 1871: “The Paris Commune considers that the imperial column of the Place Vendôme is a monument of barbarism, a symbol of brute force and false glory, an affirmation of militarism, a permanent insult from the victors to the vanquished, a perpetual attack on one of the three great principles of the Republic: brotherhood! I think it's rubbish
It's the tee shirt colour that's spoilt it for me, if it was Khaki i would have been all over it

Totally feeling the Colonne Vendôme vibes, man. I’m in the market for a Gustave Courbet tee if anyone’s got one tucked away in their holiday Château.

Totally feeling the Colonne Vendôme vibes, man. I’m in the market for a Gustave Courbet tee if anyone’s got one tucked away in their holiday Château.
