I remember a POW page with all of the prints which were going to be released online, but each day the exact prints & times of release were unknown. Long time ago, so some of these details could be wrong.
Nola was def a random drop but I think notice of some sort was given that morning.

GDP wasn't exactly a lottery. Entrants were prompted with a question and presumably the lucky buyers were selected according to the merit of their answers to the prompt. To some extent there may have been some randomness at play, but no more than that of applications to a competitive university program, for example.
