Well amazing as they pick it up for you then hand it to dhl unless you use their packing service which is worth it i guess.

Apart from that parcel2go does the same thing from your front door.

I’ve used FL from UK to USA and had top shelf experiences with their services. Having said that, you should get it in writing (within the contact between the parties) that from the minute that they take possession of the print - until the moment it is delivered to you - that their insurance policy will cover the print for any and all damages - which assumes that you will declare the print for its full monetary value although be prepared to deal with taxes at customs

I recently used them to send a print to the US. They were quick to respond to emails and reasonably priced, and I was extremely happy with their service, which is just as well since there aren't many other options for sending prints fully insured.

It would have been too expensive to send the print flat, so in the end I packed it flat in a plywood sandwich and also provided an empty tube, and they checked it, rolled it, packed it in the tube and delivered it, and all was good.

I've used FL to pack and ship framed and unframed pieces internationally with no issues whatsoever. Their service is second to none.

I've always had a good experience with FL. Friendly and never had an issue, thankfully.

You've done everything but slept in a coffin or have you done that as well ?

I used to use FL but the cost is getting out of hand and at the end of the day all they are doing is arranging another courier to pick up and deliver. You don't really know who is handling your precious cargo until the van appears outside to pick it up.

That said, I've never had any real issues with FL.

I've used Parcelforce last couple of times and it's been fine and also Fragilistics for a framed piece.

At the end of the day it depends on the value, size and your ability to bomb proof the packaging of the piece in question.

Due to the way massive quantities are handled I'd use parcelforce as a last resort.

If you can package well then UPS, DHL and others are all good and I usually book them via Interparcel.com

If you want a fantastic personal service at reasonable rates aardvarkartservices.com are brilliant although you may have to wait a week or two while their drivers get around to your area.

Don't forget that however well you package your art and however much you pay for cover there is small print with the big couriers which will say that art and in particular glass are not covered so you will find it extremely hard to get your money back in the event that you need to make a claim.

I have had a persistent recent issue with Flight Logistics where every time I ask them for a quote they first quote me for a dedicated driver at an insane price. I then have to ask for a cheaper option, which they always provide. This may be the case with your quote.
