DFace โข Skateboard Decks, by Daniel Silk on Jul 9, 2010 15:29:35 GMT 1, "When Jim Thiebaud from REAL Skateboards got in touch early this year, it was the mail i'd been waiting for since i picked up a board as a kid. I've always had huge respect for REAL, not to mention Jim and TG as riders and founders of a sick sick company, so needless to say I didn't need asking twice to work with them on a set of graphics for 3 of their pro riders; Brock, Busenitz and Ramondetta.
Each board is a portrait of that rider, Jim threw me some bones of what each rider was into, and I started each board centrally by creating a graphic of the riders actual eyes, then spliced that with a selection of elements that are the ruling factors in each of their lives... Brock grew up in Kentucky, wears plaid shirts & a beanie, is obsessed with sex and always skates with his finger pointing... get me.
The project evolved from a set of 3 boards, to building and painting a ramp and these; a very limited run of 2 colour screen printed decks (shown) full colour ones available in stores soon if not already.
Ramp fliks and vid up soon. Respect to Jim and TG at REAL.

I like the other ones too but not much as this.
The Ramondetta is nice but strong to have on the wall, in the Brock I don't like the KFC part. But for the videos made seems that D*Face prefers the Brock one;)

A few hours shut away in the garage only to emerge with a Papier-mรขchรฉ effigy of D-dog, Frank Sidebottom style!
The other uses D's 'Face Lift' stickers and some gumption to create a series of D*face yourself installations by cheekily abusing a number of Passport Photobooths... the actual results/outcome should appear on AM soon... I hope.

That's one of the two originals made of "feels so good" that is the watercolor version you see in the picture...7 feet tall, 4 feet wide, it's a beast!
