Of the 600 prob 400-500 were damaged or taped to walls etc. there are prob 100-200 of each at most still in good shape. They are much larger in many cases and banksy wasn’t on lazy cash grab missions.
Here 600 flippers will buy this boring repeat. 600 will be kept mint and I bet 6 months from now they are $5000 or less.

For those balking at the price, you cannot find a signed Kaws screenprint on Ebay for under $5k, AND you already have people on Ebay trying to flip this one for $10k.
Just for the sake of argument, that recent Mutual Art article is terribly misleading, and I could point to the same exact indicators as representing strength in his market. His market reaching auction highs in 2019 were largely due to Nigo selling The Kaws Album for $14.7M. What else happened in 2019? Kaws signed with Skarstedt Gallery, a prestigious blue chip gallery. Part of protecting an artist's market is A) placing the works in museums and important collections and B) making sure their work doesn't come up for auction, oftentimes buying it back, conducting private sales, or ideally making sure it doesn't go to flippers in the first place.
Looking at the statistics in the article, they say 80% of the works sold at auction in 2021 sold for less that $10,000. Do you think you could find an original painting under $10k? A drawing? Not even a mass produced 4-foot companion. That statement shows that they are including the abundance of "Urban Collectables" auctions that have sold hundreds of his vinyl companions in their data set. If you ask me, the fact that people aren't panic selling and bringing choice works to auction is an indicator of strength. Despite his commercial appeal, has any artist had as many museum shows in the past 5 years? As consistent as the vision is, to the point where it feels like same shit different day, doing an AR x Fortnight exhibition in Serpentine Gallery is kinda huge following all of the talk about the Metaverse over this past year.
