I've bought records in the past that were states to be signed but were all robo signed. Hopefully for those who bought, they're hand signed. It seems like this whole thing was dreamed up by someone who thought, hey art is selling like hotcakes. Let's slap some hot auction names on here and art collectors will eat it up. The pricing is aimed toward art collectors but is actually ignorant of the art market itself. Many of these artists have cheaper editions and the price should have varied based on the artist. They should've had the actual musicians sign these as well.

I’ve worked for majors, indies, artist mgt, etc just not done on any regular basis. That said, most musicians I’ve worked with/for - a wide range from Pete Townshend to Prince (some of the “P’s) hate signing autographs and would insist on personalizing as they know the “fans” will otherwise put them on EBay. Most musicians offering “signed copies” are doing so through their personal merch sites. If some are offering auto pen copies (which dates back to the secretaries signing Beatles pics) then shame on them and those unaware of what they spend their money on.

Valid point, however, the strategy behind these was not to release them all in the museum gift shop coinciding with the exhibition opening, or through a resectable print shop, or even their own microsite dedicated to the history of Interscope and giving context to their 30 year history and each of the specific albums. They deliberately released them on a hype-driven app and released at staggered time slots to feed a "drop" culture, in which (to use your words) "if something doesn’t sell out immediately it’s a failure."
Not exactly the same as seeing Jasper Johns prints still available at source from ULAE (even though Eddie Martinez's are all sold out).

- NTWRK is sketchy af, you read tons of comments on IG and UAA of crap service and people waiting on orders or damages in transit. This specific release is supposed to be shipped in June/July. Some risks there considering the strict and obvious no refund/we don’t give a shit policy
- records (and most random items) are not considered fine art and are valued accordingly (especially giclées), $2500 is already high for this and most artists in this lineup. You shouldn’t compare to print edition prices
- we have yet to see real in person pictures of this so you could end up with a $20 looking record with a $2480 signature

Nina’s Instagram says “created in Pace prints studio” nudged me to pull the trigger.
