That would have generated lots more money. They could have then sold a poster version with Ruscha stamp online and in LACMA store that would continue to raise money going forward. Not sure who the decision makers were on this project but I'm not convinced they got this one 100% right.

Why not round it up to an edition of 2000 - sounds a lot better. they could keep the odd ones back to sell later or to long standing customers who missed the timed and fancied it later on.
