Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Lord Lucas Roham on Feb 3, 2022 11:05:53 GMT 1, Calling it as 5k of each. FOMO 25,000 sold. Value falls to 1k each as people offload in panic. NFT Bois left bagholding. Don't @ me if I'm wrong. i see big number can't see meat for flippers but one thing is sure .... NENI will never allow his market to crash; too big to fail? we will see
Been thinking about this.
Hirst releases these editions AT LEAST once a year. In a couple years time you could see as much as 50,000 Heni editions in the wild. The Currency added 10k to that, we'll need to wait and see how many physical.
He's a money man, he'll literally sign and sell Coca Cola cans. They're is only so much a market can take.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Lord Lucas Roham on Feb 3, 2022 11:29:20 GMT 1, I'm seeing ads from Heni for these in my facebook feed, and I'm seeing tons of hate in the comments. In fact, I don't think I saw a single positive comment in favor of Hirst or the artworks. Yeah, I noticed that too. Everyone (except on here) seems to hate Hirst. I wonder why that is? Although some people seem to think he has pulled the wings off thousands of butterflies to make them.
I see ads everywhere. They are REALLY pushing these. He's the WISH of artists.

You realise that most advertising is targeted based on viewing habits and cookies these days though right?
If you are on an art forum, discussing these prints, buying these prints, looking at pictures of these prints, then you are going to get a lot of adds
It doesn't mean Joe Bloggs is getting a single add for these

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Richy Rich on Feb 3, 2022 14:31:40 GMT 1, Got to see them in person. Pleasantly surprised- they have a lot more depth (3D perception) than the blue Aspects (which were also hung). Without the high power artificial gallery lighting on, and just natural daylight, they looked very different. They were very dark and were super-reflective - basically acting like a mirror. The viewing distance is also important with these, as some of them with a short viewing distance are more of a muddle and you cannot appreciate their form eg. The spiral one and theodora are only impressive when viewed at twice the viewing distance of the others. Going to see them in person definitely helps to decide which one works for your tastes and room in which you will hang the piece(s). As a set it works well. But the space requirement is enviable. Already regretting pulling the trigger on one. Got caught up in the fomo and forgot what a shitty medium these are for reflections. Should have learnt my lesson from the Richter Cage series.

Felt this from photo of them all together on DHs Instagram.

Nice one. That’s really interesting to hear. Not going to make it down but was going with the spiral which I might change now if it doesn’t look great closeup

… but this also might kill the glitter effect 🤔

But then, Heni will for sure start selling gallery lighting pretty soon. And offer a framing option with non reflective acrylic glass.
I sound like a broken record but I really do not understand why these are always so terribly glossy. Anyway, happy if others like the look of them....

I sound like a broken record but I really do not understand why these are always so terribly glossy. Anyway, happy if others like the look of them.... It does beg the question of why Heni use such glossy acrylic in the first place. At 3.5K a pop, surely they could use something less reflective. It's not difficult to source non-reflective acrylic - or at least less reflective. It's not acrylic, it's a laminated print adhered to dibond. Disasec mounted prints sandwiched between dibond and acrylic could use a better grade of anti reflective acrylic but this method is super expensive.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Tropical/Ronnie on Feb 3, 2022 17:01:24 GMT 1, The NFT side of this is going to be interesting to watch.
I imagine a lot of these will be brought as NFT and people will look to trade them, with no intention of having the physical.
But as they are not a traditional art NFT i wonder what the demand shall be as eventually someone has to trade it for physical print or be happy with just the voucher!
Maybe a flurry of trades at first then a slow down as the three year period comes to an end

I paid £2619 with Monzo as the £ has climbed a bit since due to the interest rate increase. If you'd held off 30 minutes longer you'd have paid less.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Art Fan 2011 on Feb 3, 2022 17:55:38 GMT 1, Where on earth would you get this information from and think it be reliable enough to post? I would be highly skeptical of any edition being that large. Really? I would be shocked if any of them come in at less than 2K each. The Forever print (a poor image) came in at 1.5K for the large size and something similar for the small size as well. So that one was around the 3K mark.
Totally different price points though - the aforementioned prints were priced in the 100's not 1000's - virtues is a better reference point by which to estimate edition sizes, although the addition of the NFT element adds some uncertainty.
Personally ordering a physical print, all this NFT non-sense isn't for me

But if it's not acrylic, I wonder what it is. In pretty sure it’s laminated with cold butter like a proper croissant.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Deleted on Feb 3, 2022 18:59:29 GMT 1, Thanks so much for posting these pics! I have to say these look really cheap and tacky and I hate how reflective they are. That and the glitter means its a pass from me. They just look so dull and dark. The above look like some Ann Summers store fixtures or something. Completely different look from the Heni website pics. Saved me a small fortune. Again, thank-you! It's the big dull red darkness that has put me off. I think they will be a challenge to make look good in a lot of homes unless you have a big empty high white wall. I'm a big fan of DH's work but an easy pass for me.
The reflection thing can be got round with museum glass - there was a lot of talk about this when the Virtues were sold and I never notice it on mine. Not cheap though.
Thanks so much for posting these pics!

Would need lots of light to get them to look good like they do on Heni. Following this thread so closely has paid off for me and Im so glad I didnt fomo in the other day. Was 50/50 on these but after seeing pics, an easy pass. A lot saved if VAT and import fees are included.
Thanks to all who posted pics.
