Offering under cost for something that isnt due for another few months isnt the same market as people who deal in crypto currencies.

I don’t think it’s really a bad call on Pema’s part, at least on the NFT token which can already be had for less than 3K USD ( which if Artfan was serious about buying up should work out under 3K GBP for the physical). These won’t be going up for a bit as I say many people bought thinking they were regular NFTs and will be paperhanding to buy into other projects

Clearly a lot got bought just to flip (in the same way as NFTs)... plus a timed edition, and having an online market place made specifically to list them for sale, was always going to have this effect.
Time will tell where they settle.

You would have paid VAT and delivery if you'd purchased the physical from HENI in the first place, the fact is you can still buy the NFT at below cost and exchange it for a physical and you will have paid less than someone who bought the physical directly.
I don't think that will last for ever but right now it seems like a good deal if you want in.

Riotcops thinks to himself, "I'm so glad I chose the Mickey Mouse option and paid 80% of primary". The fact, these have and are selling below cost at this very moment makes your statement of "fact" a real head scratcher. Perhaps, "Hirst's price only ever go up" after they go down just a bit? The VAT and delivery also applies to those who bought physical. Anyhow, I wish you all the best with your future flip - I do sincerely believe the physicals will do well. However, my prediction to be able to buy one of these below cost after the release proved accurate. Who cares really, its glitter printed on some plastic aluminium diasec something or other. Really poor overall. It may or may not sell in the future for more than the original price which is entirely irrelevant. Anyone could buy it, it's not limited and has been done so many times before. Most of them look like like rugs to be honest.
But it was nothing more than some friendly banter between myself and Artfan2011 from 15 pages ago when discussing future pricing - so, imo this was entirely relevant.

Why would you buy from someone on Ebay, for something they don't have... you must pay straight away, but in months or whenever the physical print is available.... is the seller still around?
Is that not a crazy gamble or a money making scam?

Even the NFT's that appear "cheap", add on costs, VAT and delivery and all is not what it seem's You would have paid VAT and delivery if you'd purchased the physical from HENI in the first place, the fact is you can still buy the NFT at below cost and exchange it for a physical and you will have paid less than someone who bought the physical directly. I don't think that will last for ever but right now it seems like a good deal if you want in.

Thank you! Bear in mind, you can't buy one with your credit card. You have to buy some sort of crypto-currency to pay for it. And, like buying foreign currency, there's always a charge involved. And the exchange rate can fluctuate dramatically in just a few hours. You then have to pay "gas fees" on top of that. It will cost you much more than just paying for the postage. And the worst thing of all, is that you can't really work out beforehand how much it will actually cost you in total.
This is in part true for Opensea, not so much on Heni though where there currency used is always 1 to 1 with the USD. The only fees will be negligible.

Art is long term game generally and people who focus too much on the whims of the market as opposed to the prospects and future legacy of an artist deserve their medicore returns. |

Art is long term game generally and people who focus too much on the whims of the market as opposed to the prospects and future legacy of an artist deserve their medicore returns. i agree, however there’s never in history imo been more flippers in this game then right now…. that’s a fact…. n it greatly effects the market…. Almost makes you want to stop buying. Funny thing when they continuously expanded the money supply for 20 years at the clip they have. It creates inflation.
