because why would all those people sell their NFTs at a loss when they could just request a refund?

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Horatio Nelson on Apr 23, 2022 7:31:11 GMT 1, Re refunds for the NFTs, clause 3.6 of the T&C: “ You acknowledge that your purchase of the NFT cannot be refunded.”
Likewise, clause 11.6: “ You acknowledge and agree that once the smart contract has been executed in connection with the purchase of an NFT, it cannot be reversed and therefore there are no refunds.”
But yes, interesting situation for purchaser of physicals who may seek to cancel their order.
Re refunds for the NFTs, clause 3.6 of the T&C: “ You acknowledge that your purchase of the NFT cannot be refunded.”

If it was selling at 2x purchase price the same people wouldn't be asking for a refund at a guess.

Can only be good for those that want to keep them. 
I hope a lot get cancelled, or never get exchanged.
I have a feeling that a lot of the big NFT flippers will just write it off, if they can't sell cheap. They never wanted 10 (or more) huge prints in the first place... So probably just want to move on to the next pump and dump NFT project.

I'm pretty sure they said they'd have the option of making and selling prints for any NFTs that aren't exercised at the end of three years. I imagine they'll do that if the market is at all strong by that point. And I imagine the same will happen for these canceled orders.
