Should an artist's talent be disqualified by his actions in his personal life? I personally don't think so.. there are courts for that.

That said, I give him enormous credit watching him over the last couple of years on Instagram. I think its rare that anyone has cleaned themselves up as successfully as he has since that incident. It was a turning point and it appears he truly did a 180 degree turn. He was struggling to kick habits and it appears he has succeeded. Good for him I hope he stays the course.

I often wonder how Maria is doing these days.
I find myself getting angry on occasion but NEVER, NOT ONCE has it ever crossed my mind to punch anyone to ease my mental anguish. As someone who witnessed significant domestic violence in my childhood I find such behaviour abhorrent.
I appreciate that heโs โdone the timeโ - which he hasnโt in reality - but so many abusers get to continue with their lives whilst victims suffer in silence for the rest of the days. It might be tough for poor Ben getting his life back on track, itโs even harder when you were the one on the receiving end of the punch!
We can all agree to disagree on this but it is so tiresome continually seeing domestic abusers (convicted/unconvicted/alleged/guilty) continue with the their lives feeding the lie that they were โvictims of circumstanceโ.

It's interesting and your post made me stop to think about it for a minute, I don't see a lot of difference between a 200lb+ male striking a 130 lb female or a 130 lb male except that the male in the scenario is more well-suited to deal with it as it has probably happened to him before.

garbage collecting is actually a great job to have. I agree. It seems to pay well and I would be hard-pressed to find a profession with better job security. I needed to pop something in that sentence and assumed most people would have an aversion to it. |

Gauguin, Van Gogh, Verlaine with Rambaud, Rodin very autoritary, etc, etc, the list is long with violent artists or/and simple persons...

Not sure how accurate that statistic is considering but there again in some part's of the world physical or sexual violence against women is not a crime. Iran, Afghanistan , Middle east Qatar, Dubai etc etc where rape victims are prosecuted.

I remember being surprised to learn about how many classical musicians were antisemites and heard that that was โjust the timesโ back then. I hope we will progress to a society where all forms of violence are condemned and somebody that is known to committ such acts is duly shamed for it especially when in the public eye.
