As a partnership their editions never sold that well (or not crazy well).
Maybe on his own he's realised the best way to expand his/their market is to make more affordable and interesting editions.

Hasn't he only released around 110-120 or so "prints" recently? I think he has a way to go to catch up with recent output of Hirst, Emin, Shep etc etc :-)
I really like these recent works. I have always loved the provocation and lack of reverence (to classic work) in the Chapman Brothers art. I like the way Jake Chapman builds on this and continues using altered and twisted and almost amplified and "updated" Goya work to comment on us and the society we live in. I like how they are both frightening, relevant and witty at the same time.
As a collector I like that they are all hand finished (by the artist himself I think) and that they are reasonably priced, so us mere mortals can play along. Packaging leaves a bit to be desired though

Because they are all unique. Technically all these editions are hand coloured series but the Ap's are distinctive freak outs.

Yes, I was about to say that the standard limited editions were also hand finished. I didnβt realise that was enough to make them all APs.

The way I see it all works are hand finished and unique with the ones labelled ap just more heavily hand finished. Also the ap βrunβ is up to half the number of the regular edition.
