Who lives in the Toon? I wouldn't take much notice of what profiles say on FB. Aelius is alias... Could be anyone.

Background Bob Ebay Auction, by Charlesworth on Mar 23, 2022 22:45:51 GMT 1, Copied from the interwebs: Pons Aelius, or Newcastle Roman Fort, was an auxiliary castra and small Roman settlement on Hadrian's Wall in the Roman province of Britannia Inferior, situated on the north bank of the River Tyne close to the centre of present-day Newcastle upon Tyne, and occupied between the 2nd and 4th centuries AD

Could be the tangled web that surrounds Banksy then. I've seen he draws loads of rats and his "sketches" are really accurate. He doesn't sell them either, it's only charity stuff or give aways.

Background Bob Ebay Auction, by reeder77 on Dec 23, 2022 19:50:35 GMT 1, Pons Aelius, in my opinion, is a play on words. A play on: "Ponce Alias". Ponce meaning british slang for "pimp". Alias, of course, meaning 'other name or identity.'
Thus, the name means "my pimp alter ego." Is it Bansky? I don't know. But the art I have seen come from him make me think it is. I own one.
I did see a quote that said "if its not an official Banksy, it's a Pons."
If i had a guess, its his way to do nice things and get his art out to things that matter and people he likes without surrounding it with all that comes with the Banksy name.
But, who knows. And, maybe, who cares? Just appreciate the art for what it is.
