Ed Ruscha - signed scarf, edition of 500, by artaddict1 on May 15, 2022 16:38:37 GMT 1, Gagosian came up with a very interesting response to my inquiry regarding the printed signature. I would be interested to hear what members think.
"In this case, the artist’s signature is not depicted in the printed image, but affixed to the edition on the individualized and hand-sewn tags. Signatures can take many forms, and this textile edition is a work of print; as such, Ed Ruscha’s signature takes a printed form by design, alongside the edition’s number, rather than a traditional “wet signature."
Ed made the signature, and oversaw and approved every aspect of its design and production. The label looks the way it does because it's what Ed designed and chose."

Ed Ruscha - signed scarf, edition of 500, by Georgie Poppit on May 15, 2022 16:41:03 GMT 1, Black and white situation, it’s either signed or it’s not. If it isn’t hand signed by Ed Ruscha I’d ask for a refund.

Ed Ruscha - signed scarf, edition of 500, by ignition0 on May 15, 2022 16:46:29 GMT 1, If you click on the 5th image on the Gagosian Shop link and enlarge it you can see the Ruscha signature.
Feels like they are making it up as they go along.

Ed Ruscha - signed scarf, edition of 500, by jamo on May 15, 2022 16:52:10 GMT 1, Same as the recent Javier Calleja scarfs released - they were promoted as ‘signed by the artist’, but in reality, the labels had sewn signatures. I pointed this concern out in a post in this thread. It’s poor how they can call something ‘signed’ when not hand signed.

sounds like fraud. Signed by the artist means that the artist signed it. It should've said, "Printing of signature supervised by artist."
A mega gallery making up shit demonstrates that this entire industry is not to be trusted. It's all a pyramid scheme.

Looking forward to those “Hand Signed” interscope records arriving with stamped initials too
