Harland Miller Hate's Outta Date • 2017 & 2022, by Fuzzyduck121 on Jan 28, 2024 15:25:37 GMT 1, Yes Harland market has halved but look at street art market like stik Banksy ect there markets have gone from 60k print a year or so ago to 10k to 15k Things went crazy and this sale is very very cheap dealers and galleries are selling these still around 8k to 12k Would love an example of a print that sold at 60k that you can now buy for 10?
please do enlighten us !
Harland’s market has in my view fared worst than most but that was to be expected due to the completely laughable sales tactics of manifold in the main but also other primary galleries
the entire editions market seem to be down 20-30% but some artists, pretty decent ones with good management or solid blue chip British artists that don’t pump out new works constantly have fared better
other artists who are badly managed or who have had primary galleries take people for idiots are doing worse
these millers sold for £14-15k and this one is for sale for 6,500, that’s a drop of 57%
or maybe it’s just not that good ?
who knows

Harland Miller Hate's Outta Date • 2017 & 2022, by allobiter on Jan 28, 2024 18:55:39 GMT 1, Interesting discussion. Imo this is one of if not his worst prints. Garish, not particularly drole, feels a few degrees of separation from the live laugh love wall decor, albeit with the classic miller penguin aesthetic.

I think it's down to timing, a year ago these were £15k. It's a poor example as well, so many better prints and with the market down these need to be cheap.

Harland Miller Hate's Outta Date • 2017 & 2022, by Fuzzyduck121 on Feb 14, 2024 11:07:32 GMT 1, Are you saying you think these will be worth more in 3 years than they are now to a significant extent ?
How exactly do the economics of that work ?
Is it that the demand for millers work will be so much higher in 3 years or the entire market will rise and thus push this work up as part of a general increase ?
Genuine questions

We’re all waiting with bated breath to hear your detailed analysis which breaks down the additional percentage decrease in Miller’s market due to copycats, against the changes in the market base overall. It’s going to be riveting.
