Invader • 3D Little Big Space • Sculpture, by stendhal on Mar 8, 2023 16:02:31 GMT 1, I have been following sales prices over the last months of these little marvels. My assesment :
* First period just after shipment (or even before) : a lot of offers from flippers but high volatility of sales prices. Even at this time some were sold at price arround €1k to €1.3k but also some (a lot?) arround €0,8k
* Second period (since december / January) : still not rare on the market but tighter volumes : - for months there were at least 3 selling on Catawiki at the same time, now it is one or none. Almost always arround €1.5k with fees and shipping - fewer volume on ebay with higher average price asked from sellers - leboncoin (French major retail website) : same thing than ebay. Almost all offers below €1k are scams (even though sellers seem to be secure) - fewer volume on StockX and slightly higher price aver last weeks
As of today, if you are in a major city (like Paris) and that you can deliver it by hand, there is no way you sell it below €1k. Two friends of mine bought one here and couldn't buy below this price without taking the risk of buying to a scammer. I you do distant sell, you might struggle a little bit more to find buyer at more than €1k.
But the real thing is available volume. Once those who bought to sell will have done this (I guess it will take 1,5 to 2 years), volume will decrease a lot as these things are very fun and nice and were almost free during the initial sell (if you have it and do not need money, you will keep it for long and by the way, these things are always a topic when you have guests even if you have other artworks, everybody like them). The volume on StockX is a very relevant information to me, I guess it will come arround 0 by this summer (some supply will come over the time but never an avalanche again).
So the first months confirm, IMHO, my initial guess : these things will be arround €2k to €3k withing a year or so. Then everybody will say : how could be so silly not to buy one? I read the thread on invasion kits which started in 2007 and this is so funny to see how people appreciation of things change over a 10 years period on the same object. I do not say that little big space sculpture will reach the same value (for obvious reasons they won't) but the target value of €5k in 5 to 10 years is reachable

pretty impressive you managed to write so much nonsense.

Invader • 3D Little Big Space • Sculpture, by stendhal on Mar 8, 2023 16:28:39 GMT 1, Sorry I like guesstimates so much that I do this all the time. You get used to this in my business (financial modelling) so it is a second nature
But do you deny the observations I made : * Average prices sold on StockX, Catawiki and Ebay? * Lower volumes available right now compared to 6 months ago?
* People reactions when they see these things? * Higher price in big city where demand is higher so you can buy with easy and safe transactions by hand?
I am always interested in other points of view on this so shoot, it might be fun. By the way did you read my post on Arman and Jasper Johns high number editions prices evolution over 50 years, it might interest you as they are so comparable (it is on this thread if I recall correctly)
Last thing, you are right I have some of these things, among other things. But even if I am right, I fear it might quite not be enough to pay my mortgage

It might change everything you are right. Invader seems to be at a turning point in his career : from low volume underground things to high volumes / high money. It might kill the market or expand his fame and demand.
