I'm popping into central London today to see the Hirst at Gagosian and hopefully Peter Kennard at Saltoun.
Anything else worth a visit whilst I'm there?
Appreciate its a last minute question but now that things are open again I'll be back shortly and regularly anyway.
Cheers

Can I add the Stik statue in Hoxton Square? You are then in easy striking distance of a lot of pieces, worth a wander?

I did this a couple of weeks ago, went to the Hirst show then Hoxton sq detouring via the banksy at the Barbican, then a full walk around the main Street art spots in Shoreditch. Walked about 5 mile in all. Was great

Visit LONDON ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by RichEngland on May 28, 2021 0:55:54 GMT 1, Hi all,
I'm working on booking my first flight to the UK in years-- also the first time in-country since I got into collecting art. I'll probably hit the Tate Modern, but this has me wondering what galleries I should visit. My budget isn't signed-Banksy-level but I'd like to check out some pieces by the man himself and some of the other artists in the space... maybe buy something cheaper than a row of Vauxhall Corsas like a Stik or some Bleks. What are the most reliable galleries to have cool stuff?
PS yay vaccines.

I think it's Hilton Bankside? Not sure how they are doing things now, but it's a few block walk to Tate Modern. The trafalgar square Hilton can you get to you stolenspace, Nelly duff, pure evil gallery, and a few others I'm forgetting if you're okay walking a few more blocks.
Are you sure you mean Trafalger Square Hilton? Because I wouldnโt stay there if planning to walk to all those galleries in Shoreditch...? Unless you fancy a long walk. But if you mean staying central as a good base, then thatโs true. Although staying in Shoreditch area might be better due to all the street art there actually on the streets A shame Ace hotel there has now closed but plenty of others to suit any budget. Hoxton hotel, Shoreditch House hotel (no need to be a member to stay), Nobu hotel to name but a few.

Visit LONDON ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by theclash on May 28, 2021 7:52:44 GMT 1, Hi there mate, hope you enjoy the trip. In terms of Galleries. The big central area is around Mayfair with lots of different ones, you also have all the major auction houses.
I did a wander around this week on my first trip into London in over a year. Clearly the exhibitions rotate so what is worth seeing at any point can change but I took in:
Christea Roberts: Charlotte Keates pieces are stunning in person but I actually have to say my favourite was Zsofia Schweger, I loved the softness of the colours and the sense of melancholy with the absence of people in scenes they belong in
Neon: lovely collection. I am a big fan of Aubrey Higgin and his is work is awesome there but also saw my first Richard Hambelton which was powerful and so dark. Geoff Unglow was a revelation, amazing images and textures in his paintings.
I also just wandered into the auction houses and saw all the Banksyโs IRL, Choose your Weapon, LIITA, Laugh now. Thrown in with some Harings etc. The Hockney at Royal Academy is great. You have Halcyon and Opera and others on Bond St, which can be great. Saw some amazing Warholโs there previously. If you wander around the streets between Picadilly and Strand you may even see a collection of Bridget Riley originals on display ๐ง
