Szabolcs Bozo ๐ญ๐บ Szabi โข Hungary โข Fantastical Creatures , by Hey Brooklyn on Jul 28, 2023 17:35:41 GMT 1, People say low estimates attract more buyers. I say high estimates do, as they allow for the buyer to trust what itโs worth more. 1000%
The auction houses like to tout and are judged on producing โover estimateโ results. Theyโll generally set the coat at or close to current primary early on, then when the secondary market rises they find somewhere in between.
High estimate wonโt ensure a higher sale. Itโll make it easier for the work to be bought in. Which is terrible for real collectors that hold. Flipper that are stuck holding and more importantly really negatively impacts an artist career.
Hype artist will always fly high and crash quick. There is so much manipulation in the ultra contemporary market. Donโt get stuck holding the bag. If the estimates quickly go back down then yep, youre prob holding the bag.

Maybe, just maybe find a 48"x36" original for a 4 digits tops and resell for 5 digits.

Szabolcs Bozo ๐ญ๐บ Szabi โข Hungary โข Fantastical Creatures , by from mjolnir on Oct 3, 2023 9:33:19 GMT 1, What are people's thoughts on the upcoming Avant Arte edition with Bozo avantarte.com/products/szabolcs-bozo-the-aquarium ? I think it's by far the best print release he's done, so I'm probably going to grab one, but just nervous this will be followed by another bunch of prints like they did with Roby ... Avant Arte charge very high prices that remove all, if not more, of the difference between the initial price and the market price. They were able to do this for so long as they clearly had a very strong customer base who bought many releases per year. Look at the effects of inflation and rising interest rates and we now see that the constancy of sold-out releases has come to an end, and many are still available like: Shaina McCoy; Danielle Orchard; Takeru Amano; etc. Look at the decrease in demand for timed editions such as Jose Parla, figures for which fell massively YoY. Figures for the Elizabeth Peyton editions were never released, presumably because of how few were sold. Members are now unable to sell Avant releases at cost, or below. Don't assume any profitability from it, nor the ability to curry and favor with AA; only buy it if you love the image and want it in your home. I think Avant Arte have quietly released the Elizabeth Peyton edition figures - 100 and 40, crazy low given how much they pushed them

I think Avant Arte have quietly released the Elizabeth Peyton edition figures - 100 and 40, crazy low given how much they pushed them I find it impossible to believe that the demand would have lead to such nice multiples of 10, so they seem padded. The image and price determines the sales figures. No one expected them to do well, but I would love to know how many were actually ordered.
