I am happy with the invasion kits I purchased from the Giant Robot and the Space Shop years ago for a $150 bucks.s**t, I would buy them for friends as gifts. I remember dealing with Orbi, those were the days. Iโm sure these days, Invaders bank balance is doing much better but hope he doesnโt forget the OG fans that made him this successful in the first place. Not sure he is 100% aware how his fans and paying customers are being treated by this uptight gallery.

They have had a large turn over of directors over the years so it has been hard to establish a solid personal relationship with someone. I know who the โright peopleโ are Krysta in LA, Sylviane in Paris, it was Sadie in 2018 then it was Guy, I lost track. Personally I think itโs rude when you inquire, the first thing they say is โwhat is your budget?โ I am happy with the invasion kits I purchased from the Giant Robot and the Space Shop years ago for a $150 bucks.s**t, I would buy them for friends as gifts. I can only echo the complaints above. Sure they act really nice but it's a faรงade, and while I don't have the budget for an original that does not make me any less of a fan. In fact the show was the primary reason I went to Paris in winter.
So when I first visited with my girlfriend and our two boys I didn't even remember to ask for a showcard. Luckily I had another visit planned with two friends the next day.
So the next day while leaving I asked the girl there if she had any showcards left, she first offered the MiMa flyers, which we have, then told us we could have one (1 piece) 4000 showcard for the three of us. When we asked why we couldn't have three she rambled on about "it being one card per timeslot, not per visitor", but we booked two slots, and "we're a gallery not a museum".
When we told her we came all the way from the Netherlands to see this show she said that "there are also people who aren't as fortunate and can't make it at all". Eh, wtf, how is that my problem and how does that stop you from giving me a card? We went outside flabbergasted, my friends went back and literally begged her for another, and in the end we got our three cards.
They're fucking showcards, print them, give them away and when they're gone you either say sorry we're out, or you print some more. Invader is your cashcow, surely you can afford to print thousands of them, if not I'll happily pay a โฌ1 for a piece of cardboard that cost โฌ0,10 to print, hell you could even make some money, poor poor gallery.
OTI needs Invader more than he needs OTI, it's a disgrace they use him to sell other artists works to people who ultimately just want a Invader piece. It's admirable but unbelievable Shootagain would have to offer to connect you to 'the right people'. If I were to win the lottery one day I'd go straight to Orbi. I really hope Invader one day realizes what they're really like and signs with a decent gallery like Perrotin, God knows he deserves it.

500 books is quite a lot at โฌ800, for example the regular edition of the Ravenna book was 1500. I think that there might be a lot of people that entered the draw with no real intention of buying or they get cold feet when actually presented the chance to buy. It doesn't help that it's local pick up only.
It could take OTI a while to allocate them to actual buyers.

Yes, you are right, not sure ( I don't know how many visitors they got ) that all of them entered in the draw, to buy a book at 800 euros.. 500 ex is a big number.

Anyway it's a really nice art book/item ( a " goodie " side in it ) , singular and classy, and if I was enough " rich ", I would bought it.
Today is the day of the draw for the Limited Edition 4000 book, good luck to everybody that entered. 500 books is quite a lot at โฌ800, for example the regular edition of the Ravenna book was 1500. I think that there might be a lot of people that entered the draw with no real intention of buying or they get cold feet when actually presented the chance to buy. It doesn't help that it's local pick up only. It could take OTI a while to allocate them to actual buyers. Yes, you are right, not sure ( I don't know how many visitors they got ) that all of them entered in the draw, to buy a book at 800 euros.. 500 ex is a big number.

This is a catalogue by Tajan Aucitions I think that auctions catalogues are really interesting because in the future you can see prices of invader (and other artists) stuffs in 2018/2019 etc etc I have 3 or 4 Tajan catalogues, from different yers, and I'm so happy |
