Former companion of Pow perhaps because many of these pieces have not appeared in the catalogs of auction houses for a very long time.
From when and how much does it become pathological? such purchases...
To be honest, I'll have trouble sleeping with such a collection.

Some quick follow ups to address questions in the thread and messages:

Q: What the heck is this?
A: Every 6 months or so I rotate artwork in the house. For the holidays I pulled a bunch of stuff out of basement storage looking for inspiration. Just laid it around. That's what this is.

Q: No. Really. What the hell are we looking at?
A: Everything fits in to one of the following buckets. I guess I could take a count if folks wanted.
1) Some original Banksy prints
2) Some (a lot of) WCP prints
3) Some original Banksy canvases
4) Some (a lot of) handmade replica Banksy canvases
5) Everything else is "real"

Q: So if it's not Banksy, it's real?
A: Correct

Q: Who made the "replica " canvases?
A: I did.

Q: Why?
A: Short story is that some of it was me just getting tired of chasing Banksy's in to the stratosphere at auction, but most of it was a side project to sharpen up on my drawing, stencil making and painting. They are all hand-drawn, hand cut, and hand painted. Wherever possible I used in-person reference works.

Q: Are they any good?
A: Banksy is human (I think). He does stencil work. He is limited to physical materials and basic techniques that we all have access to. Of course there is some "magic" in his touch and approach, sure. Without actually handling and looking at the back of the pieces, I suspect most people couldn't separate the real from the replicas on the "Santa's Ghetto" wall (mostly 2003-05 editions, basic black & red stencils). With the heavier acrylic and multilayer works, I'm sure there are differences in our brushstrokes.

Q: Are they for sale?
A: No. They have never been above ground or seen the light of day other than this quick video. As per Pest Control's guidance, strictly for "non-commercial, personal amusement"...

You’ll have to forgive me if so - but I don’t think we have met, no? Do we know each other? A bizarre accusation for someone you don’t know. Oh well, such is the internet and, for some reason, this particular corner of it.

Obviously the extent of my imagination and originality is not mine to judge. But I am truly fortunate to have a fair list of clients that seem happy with it. I assure you, I was most definitely not born with the “time and money” you seem to discount.

in the off chance I am misunderstanding your snippet, and you are actually interested in such things, a small snapshot of one of the pieces I am currently working on, below. A sneak peak of the lower 1/8th of what will be a 36x48 stencil. First of a series of collaborations with a handful of other artists using famous prisons as the background - in this case, Kingston Penitentiary. (Google it - stunning location and architecture that I think really lends itself to some cool potential stencils.) Will have different artists add art to the various prison walls, highlighting various social issues, etc. Obviously pretty large and fine stencil work, so a fun challenge.
