I don’t think many will redeem for a physical artwork. I am thinking 300-500 GE physicals at the end… Paltry numbers compared to other Damien Hirst releases on Heni. Why?

- 4,851 Currency NFTs were not redeemed/ turned into a physical; it’s doubtful that many of their holders will be interested in redeeming their airdropped GE

- Out of the 5,149 buyers who went for the Currency physical, many have little/ no experience with crypto/ NFTs (you could buy with credit card and redeem for the physical without too much hassle); it may be just as easy to convert an airdropped GE but, unlike the Currency, the GE NFTs vary significantly in desirability (e.g., white background and special backgrounds are more desirable), so the GE in one’s Palm wallet may not be the one to turn into a physical. Many will not bother with opensea/ bridging. And many will think why pay more for this than the $2k I paid for the currency?

- I don’t see many new collectors participating: NFT crowd sticks with NFTs, and traditional collectors won’t do the opensea/ bridging thing

Fancy backgrounds seem to sell quite quickly for 1-2 ETH on Opensea, perhaps just get it on there.

Sorry for also sounding like a luddite, but how does it work if you just sell it on here rather than bridging to opensea and selling on there?

Mine has 6 attributes including the sunset background, and up for selling, but palms are already sweating thinking about the process.....!!

You used to be able to do Palm to Palm wallet transfers, but has that functionality gone now?

I think a palm to palm transfer is possible with not much effort, it will be easier and cheaper for both buyer and seller without the stress and expenses on bridging between different chain.

If we’re talking financial value only, I’d say that these rarity rankings are valued more by NFT collectors than physical art collectors, so the number #1 ranked NFT will always have a premium value as an NFT. And if in the future the collection value rises, this one will be far ahead of the pack. 

That said, the reasons for it being rare also sometimes are very exciting aesthetically and lead to a good physical. Plus there likely won’t be many physicals in this series (30 or so at current?)

On balance, I’d probably keep the NFT for the #1. But for lower ranked NFTs that are also a bit rare and look special, I’d take the physical. 

If anyone has one of these with the rare backgrounds then I’d be interested to purchase.

This is a huge failure. Not that I can opine on people’s personal circumstances however as Christmas approaches and personal tax bills are due at the end of January I think the timing of this means people have better things to spend their disposable income on. No-one is reasonably frame these too - they are very strange. Should have been $1k max, not $3k with VAT

1.5 months is a very long time to decide and jump on a purchase for a desirable piece of art.

Can’t really compare an open (ish) edition of 50 to a limited edition of 50 right? If these end up being a “small” edition it will just go to show how unpopular and overpriced they are/were.  

I actually encourage those to check them out in person. With Empresses they were over bought without seeing what they would look like, but in person the Empresses are actually pretty striking and exceeded expectations. Same with the Virtues, once they arrived people started to see the appeal and depth.

These however are two dimensional turd parcels. Would take a real weirdo to want some pregnancy emojis on their wall, regardless of the Hirst signature.
