What I like is the rawness of 10Foot, TOX etc.

For me Art is a bit like football in that following a premier league team or top artist there is a disconnect between them and fans, almost untouchable.

Where as the likes of 10Foot is like following a lower league team, there is still a connection, yes that rawness can lead to mistakes but it’s all genuine and they’ll go out of their way to rectify anything and you get that personal touch which goes a long way IMO.

Can a forum member please help me out.
I have read about the artist 10Foot for the past few months on our forum daily and I have googled his name and have perused articles online about his history and I still have no idea why he is so popular.  What am I missing ? Are there other forum members who are thinking the same thing, but are just afraid to ask publicly ?  

In the same way as Shepard Fairey started - it is about repetition and getting your name out there. 10foot and TOX are prolific. You cannot, not see it in London. I guess those who live in or visit London appreciate it more.

For me, the positioning of where the tags appear is the appeal. You wouldn’t see LA2 doing this… 😉

We all know that Art and Graffiti-writers are separate in the real world.

Away from the galleries writing is rebellion, Steph Warren put it well "Its not power towering over you, its power walking along side of you" 

The hand painted release with DOPE Magazine was in aid of supporting the homeless, the London AtoZ (Disintegration Loops) is a celebration of his 'All City' conquering defiance of the local authorities and the ruling classes with which they align.

I don't see 10Foot ever doing a gallery show, he never really strays from the classic tag which keeps everything true to the origins of old school graffiti writers and their connection to the street.

However, a lot of new hype is due to Banksy dropping a thanks in the back of his Cut & Run book and this maybe a reason why there is a lot more attention on him right now.

Not all the answers you need to make your own opinion of his current body of work but it my opinion and I hope it give a little context.

Try 10foot. Under a post or after a story. It’s true that actually does not answer often ( never ) , almost in mails. I’ve never had an answer by mail.

I will be impressed if anyone makes it though. I doubt even 10foot would tag a 2,000 year old tree so no graff to be seen. 🌳
