I was given a copy of Subway Art by a guy keen to offload a whole lot of graffiti books and magazines many years ago after he left that part of his life behind him. Maybe 15 years later Martha Cooper did a speaking tour of Australia promoting a show of her photographs; I went & took it along in case I had the opportunity to get it signed. Saw her walking towards the auditorium before the talk & got it :-) I should did it out and post a photo. You are right, it's as essential a volume as Banksy's Wall & Piece (in many ways more essential, just wanted to tie it to the thread) |

Sounds good!... and if there are any new members who aren't familiar with the book Subway Art and are interested in learning more about the history of graffiti and street art, it's well worth a read! I was given a copy of Subway Art by a guy keen to offload a whole lot of graffiti books and magazines many years ago after he left that part of his life behind him. Maybe 15 years later Martha Cooper did a speaking tour of Australia promoting a show of her photographs; I went & took it along in case I had the opportunity to get it signed. I’ve picked up the signed ones and surprised they are only producing 400 sets of stamps in total. All going to a good cause as well.

He's an angry book flipper who's posted literally 13,969 times (and I'm genuinely not making that up) on an 'Urban Art' forum with absolutely zero contextual knowledge of the culture. The only person I’ve ever met to mistake a Skeme piece for a Sex and City reference…
We could discuss the weather for a bit, but realistically a coffee takes like 20mins… we could do 3 mins maybe on the weather, possibly 5/6mins on him telling me the quickest way to sell a Space Invader shaped waffle… but yeah, that’s not even half the time and it would just get awkward….

Incase you were though, as I posted in French, I like the coffee idea but me and Lroy would have nothing to talk about.
