Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by leroy77 on Aug 15, 2023 16:33:44 GMT 1, I have actually stretched the bag without unstitching it to a frame and then mounted it to the open face box frame using velcro patches,
My handle is still attached and I'm considering using it to hang from a picture hook from my rail, in order to maintain that its a bag,
All comments welcome I'm not offended by others opinions - but yes I too hate myself for framing a tote - but its cool in my opinion.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by Carl Cashman Art on Aug 15, 2023 16:39:29 GMT 1, There's a tool for stretching the canvas, which is like a cushioned pair of pliers. But that's not essential as you should still get it pretty tight by hand (2 people on the job helps). The canvas is held in place with a robust staple gun or nails etc. If you'd still like it tighter you can wet the back of it with water and as it dries it'll tighten like a drum. You definitely won't need stretching tools for something this size.

You don't have to hate yourself. They are true original works of art (in this case it is a silkscreen on thick canvas). For a long time people put them on the wall framed.
An example (DFace) sold some time ago:

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by leroy77 on Aug 15, 2023 19:14:17 GMT 1, Does anyone else have plans to get this framed? I love the image but hate myself for considering framing a fuckin tote bag. Might destitch it and get it framed like a canvas. Buy a cheap canvas, remove material from the frame and stretch the tote over said frame. You can pick up tray frame for canvass pretty cheap. There's no real need to spend a lot of cash on it getting it done professionally. Agree - I simply pulled it by hand and stapled it into the frame, I purchased a frame to order for like ten quid I think and the open front tray maybe another 20, both web purchases to the required size of there face I wanted to remain showing

I feel, as I am a very feeling person, that walking around town with the framed piece (toting by the handles, of course) that it will be then acknowledged by the unindoctrinated, as a true artwork. Not just some every day bag.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by jp on Aug 15, 2023 23:12:59 GMT 1, Does anyone have any reccomendations whilst in Glasgow for 24hrs? Restruants, shops, places of interest... all tips appreciated. This is a list of places to eat/drink that I put together from this very thread in preparation for my visit. Thank you to those that mentioned them.
Since I have not frequented any of these places yet, I cannot confirm how great/awful they are:
Ox and Finch
Crabshakk
Ka Pao
Murphy's Pakora Bar
Fish & Chips at CATCH
Ubiquitous Chip
Kong Garden (just beside GOMA) for Banksy LIITA cocktail
Rishi’s Indian Aroma
Max’s Bar for the Iron Bru Margarita
Blue Lagoon chip shop
Edit: I also looked up this one for nostalgic purposes: Trainspotting: The pub where Francis Begbie throws a pint glass was the Crosslands bar in Maryhill, now The BrewHaus on Queen Margaret Drive.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by stuff on Aug 16, 2023 11:09:47 GMT 1, Hey, I planned going to the show, but sadly can't make it. Really bummed out here, but probably it's for the better, given that jetting over there for a day isn't great in terms of co2.
I'd be happy to give up two tickets for Saturday the 19th at 17:00, if someone could grab me a book with tote and a border farce t-shirt if they're still available. Any takers?

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by Jules Leotard on Aug 17, 2023 6:14:58 GMT 1, Was wondering; anyone outside of Scotland and/or UK receive their (online ordered) poster set yet? Nope. I ordered on Day 2 (almost 3 weeks ago) and this afternoon I received an update that said it was shipping, so...there's that. I can't wait to get the book, but was wondering if the book with the posters was more of a hassle for them to ship (will it come together or a tube and a box???).

( no, putting a book kin a tube would not work/match ;-)
