Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by Jules Leotard on Aug 28, 2023 21:57:57 GMT 1, Let’s speculate. What could be the reason Jo Brooks is in town? Because, as we all know, Jo...likes to Disco. Oh, and there will be Disco!
Separately, she has become fond of Glasgow and its quaint, old world charm.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by ocean89 on Aug 28, 2023 23:26:34 GMT 1, So after all - what do we think of this? The exhibition was great - much better than I expected. But does Banksy now acts against his own mindset? Especially if this exhibition tours to different cities?

probably thinking of their future which indeed contradicts young Banksy.
terrible reality of becoming middle aged.

It was so nice to meet so many of the folk from this forum in person, thank you for saying hi. Sadly yet again no mystery package was handed over for the final Glasgow Children's Hospital Art Auction but no one can say I didn't try. Onwards and upwards...

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by Jules Leotard on Aug 29, 2023 6:31:48 GMT 1, It had been 15 years. I was in real danger of becoming some sort of Norman Bates-type character. Don't worry, I've still got her hairbrush with the last of her real hair. This reminds me, true story, shortly after mum died (mine, not yours), my sister and I were going through her stuff. Some members of the family wanted a few items of clothing, etc, so we were having to arrange that. Long story-short, we found our mum's old vibrator. Not our finest hour as a family. Picture the scene, our cheeks still damp from our mother's funeral only the day before, now my sister and I gagging and dry-heaving in our mother's bedroom. I'd never seen such an old sex toy. Steam-powered, I believe it was. This huge thing. It looked like an anti-tank round. What followed, after we'd composed ourselves and stopped crying and scrubbing our hands in the bathroom, was an extremely intense conversation about what to do with it, our dead mother's vibrator. I was all for throwing this out, and was partway through checking whether you can put Bakelite into the recycling bin, when my sister started saying we shouldn't be so hasty, and maybe we could sell it instead. That it was probably valuable. Collectable. It still had its box and instructions and everything. I can do many things, most things, I'm adaptable, morally adventurous, a survivor, a bit like a cockroach, but I just couldn't bring myself to sell my dead mother's sex toy to a stranger online. Donate it to a museum, yes. Random sex archaeologist pervert, no. It was sad, but it had to go. My sister and I, together, almost ceremonially, tossed the vibrator into a wheelie-bin, an act which in its own small way, reminded us of our mother. I love this story. This one makes me happy. A great improvement over Star Burger.
The Unfortunate Discovery
I have a parallel, equally horrible story. Mine has yet to crescendo. I typed it all here and deleted it. It was too much. It will always be too much. It has the hallmarks of your story; illness, death, and the other stuff. My sibling is unaware of this discovery and I feel that sibling should experience the maximum impact of said unfortunate discovery in the same way I had to experience the unfortunate discovery while I was sorting and organizing - a task which should not be completely mine to undertake, but has been. What makes mine worse is it was a home movie from about 30 years ago.
Yep.
I always thought the shortest increment of time was when a Latin American song came on my car radio when I was flipping through the stations.
I threw out my whole back and body trying to get the tv or vcr to shut off.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by Jules Leotard on Aug 29, 2023 6:38:58 GMT 1, I trust that members fortunate enough to be at the show for the last day will be planning to be there until the very death. Maybe a thermos, some sandwiches, and plans to hide somewhere in the exhibition until closing. My money would be on the back of the meat truck. Or perhaps clinging to the underside, and if spotted and challenged by security, simply claiming, "No, I've always been here. And I do not appreciate the accusation.". The only UAA members that were allowed to stay for the after-hours knew to wear their hi-viz vests.
At least that's what the pdf said.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by Jules Leotard on Aug 29, 2023 6:54:36 GMT 1, You've gotta put this stuff out there into the Universe. Lotta folk on here have solid, and sometimes weird, connections to Banksy and the folk in his orbit. You never know. I can be both appreciate and discreet. Plus, I'd never sell it. My mum was a hoarder (at least I think that was what people in the street used to shout at her), and I believe that condition is genetic, runs in families, so I never get rid of stuff. I have this affliction. During the recent organizing and sorting I have been doing, I came across (around when Pele passed) my mudder cleats from 30-some years ago. I thought, I'll play with the kids in these. I polished them up and thought, I can't play in these, they're too nice. Then I came across my 30-something-minus-two-year-old regular cleats. Polished them up. They, too, look and feel fantastic. I won't play in them either. So I bought a used pair of modern cleats to play with the kids in.
It did make me realize three things. A) I take really good care of my things, B) I don't seem to get rid of my things, and C) they really don't make things like they used to.

Oh no. Oh no no. That is...quite the thing. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of group.
I trust you'll be leaving it, along with another movie starring your good self, for your sibling to discover in the event of your untimely demise.
