Invader, Camouflage Prints, by Londown 01 on Dec 8, 2024 19:47:06 GMT 1, Why do they sell them as an application ? Is it an advantage for Heni ? Seems like they make more work for themselves as opposed to a first come first served . I think in person would have been the best way to sell but I suppose it is better for international fans . still not sure why they have framed them either ? just seems odd compared to other releases Application: in person you could not shift 2400 (lookalike) Invader prints for 10+ million!? Application/ lottery could also create more FOMO, but don't have any data to back this up
Framing: gives the impression of added value

Invader, Camouflage Prints, by Georgie Poppit on Dec 8, 2024 23:23:06 GMT 1, Interesting most people I have spoken to about these say they don’t like them and aren’t bothering. Could be keeping their cards close to their chests or maybe they’re just not popular. Time will tell. I wonder out of the 8 billion people who can apply , how many have you spoken to I’m constantly amazed by the perception people have of anecdotal evidence no offence meant but this literally means zero People I talk to who are the kind of people who collect art and own or have owned Invader works in the past. Sorry for not being more specific.

Invader, Camouflage Prints, by damo on Dec 8, 2024 23:36:49 GMT 1, Had the lights turned off in the gallery today so we could see the small b&w print. It’s pretty cool (still wasn’t dark enough to properly understand how much it glowed) but it’s fun and a bit different. I still think it’s only a buy if you like it in normal light though, where you’ll mostly see it fwiw. Left thinking the absolute stand out is the XXL black on black. I do like them all though so maybe biased. The black glitter (my least favourite) was clean in the frame, so I don’t know if the frames are easily switched and it’s had a clean out based on some comments I’ve seen from those visiting earlier in the week.
Staff confirmed it’s been busy with a lot of French visitor since last weekend.

Invader, Camouflage Prints, by Acme Thunderer on Dec 8, 2024 23:40:36 GMT 1, Just to give a glimmer of hope to those who have applied, this is possibly the worst time of the year to release art, so whilst these will be popular, they won’t be as popular compared to if they released a few months earlier.
It will take at least a week for Heni to sort through/manipulate the applications (and then go through the extra process of re-allocating due to non-payments), which means people will have to pay just before Christmas.
I’ve done my application today and selected the two I always liked the most back in February. Good luck folks. 🙌

Invader, Camouflage Prints, by Fuzzyduck121 on Dec 9, 2024 18:00:11 GMT 1, Now that this is over I am unsure if people have genuine downplayed this or missed the boat.
Personal view on the small works is that an invader screen print at source for £1400 is a wonderful opportunity for collectors to acquire works for their collection, no idea about values to a dealer as that isnt my angle.
They are bang on the right size and spec for an invader work as they relate to the street works really well and a proper screenprint on decent paper is ideal and a rare thing these days
Compared to some shiny plastic panel with an edition of say 700 or 800 such as the Marilyn this is a no brainer
Good luck to those who applied

Invader, Camouflage Prints, by radnatic on Dec 9, 2024 18:14:15 GMT 1, you still can apply for.
edit: now it´s over. 15 min longer than planned. ...my luck. It was so hard to decide. I don't like Heni and their professional commercialization of the artists that much and I don't know what we can expect from the collaboration between Heni and Invader. I just hope that there will also be classic Invader releases and that Heni doesn't get exclusive rights. We're all still waiting for the 4000 print. The question is also whether future sales of Alias will only be carried out exclusively through Heni. What do you think?

Happy with my decision, when you consider what you can buy with that money instead (Longo, Eliason, Baselitz etc.)
Actually considered going for a small though for the reasons you mentioned. However, eventually these just seemed too ugly and lazy. That's a matter of taste though.

There is no need to even wait to see if you are successful. This is absolute genius and just goes to show how much effort they are making to ensure they go to genuine collectors. Bravo Heni. First in line!

Invader, Camouflage Prints, by yoss on Dec 9, 2024 22:00:44 GMT 1, I was on the fence as to whether or not to try to grab that GitD small print. In the end I didn't go through with it. I mean, I was fortunate enough to get one of the Alert 2021 Specials for $1600 and it was an edition of 60. Spending a bit more than that for a smaller print of 200, I just couldn't justify it when that money can be spent on Christmas things or repairs around the house/car...
Good luck to all of you that submitted an application. Can't wait to see how they look on all of your walls considering it comes framed, right??
Will any of you be switching out the framing for some other look? Does it come with UV protected glass/plexi?

Invader, Camouflage Prints, by Londown 01 on Dec 9, 2024 22:18:10 GMT 1, iconic to whom?
popular how?
I feel like we overvalue the importance and appreciation of Invader on this forum simply because it's originally dedicated to street art, and in this niche Invader surely is iconic. But in the context of the general art world / art market I'm not so sure ...
Would appreciate any data to refute this or back it up.

Ignore me - on their official discord:
The prints are float mounted using archival techniques. The artworks are not designed to have the frame removed but technically this is possible if done very carefully if you visit an experienced conservator.
We are using Artglass Lifetime Acrylic which has UV protection of 99% and is anti-reflective.

All seems pretty reasonable and would suggest that invader is well known and will probably sell a couple thousand prints without blinking.
