Can anyone who knows about business/ economy help me with this: 

Why does almost every piece (artwork/ tat) seem to be sold with a hefty premium right after release? Does that effectively mean that all artists sell under market value? Why cant these tiles be sold by Invader for 50.- and then be worth about 50.-? 

 

Sure, limited availability is part of the price: but that the artists also know and could try to price their pieces more according to the current market values. 

None of the recent Faile releases, for example, are particularly great, but they seem to get the pricing about right. 

I thought that artist’s plates were the bottom of all expected bottoms, but I never would have thought that it could even get worse. Tiles. My grandmother collected tiles. OMG.

Wrong. Plates by Picasso (madoura), Chagall or Brasilier are marvels. Hope you did not throw some away when your grandma passed away Two thoughts :
1) main question is : do tiles make sense in the artist work. With Invader of course it does
2) second question : are they handmade by the artist or by a talented craftsman. In this case no
Conclusion : they are nice collectibles that make sense but not artworks. In any case not the bottom of something

All artists ‘s tats are rubbish .. but .. but it depends who is fan of which artist, and who is going to an exhibition or buying on line ( I won’t speak of Kaws, Hirst, Heni, Weiwei as I’m not fan, and they represent for me only money, even if I’m wrong).

So, Invader stamps, stickers, tiles or whatever not signed and numbered ( inexpensive in fact, not for dentists collectors per example) are childish and we have to grow up. « Men » you see 💪🏼
Who bought Speedballs. Rubiks from Bruxelles etc etc ? Who buy maps of countries that we will never go ?

A friend living near the exhibition tried to get in today showing the older ticket that he got ( he was one of the first ). They answered him ( with all these flipping it seems obvious ) that it does not match anymore, rules have changed. No more passport for the shop !

I understand that this is a thread for Invader, but hearing that collecting tiles is for old people honestly seems like one of the most absurd things I've heard on this forum in recent years. Lol

Some tiles for old people:

No tickets available on the door today - still only allowing pre-booked tickets (no walk-ins).

Someone on Discord mentioned night slots, not sure if that's official.

They haven't allowed walk ins since the start and they'll probably won't start now. It's max 100 visitors at a time, orders of the fire department. And I must say, there's only one staircase leading up to the exhibition on the fifth floor and there are no doors untill you're up there, so honestly I can see why they would limit the number of visitors.

Haha, yes, but why not start from the Eiffel Tower and zipline right into the terrace 😂
