Ai Weiwei โข 81 Questions Prints, by kfroms on Jan 12, 2024 19:21:54 GMT 1, Human / philosophical Unfortunately they are far too big for me - and thats not even considering the framing cost. Shame, I like the idea behind them a lot.

I actually find it really interesting. I like the negative space too. Just too big and too expensive. (Although ยฃ600 ainโt actually that bad for a print). Iโd rather this than a coco cola vase tbh.

Ai Weiwei โข 81 Questions Prints, by Display_arts on Jan 12, 2024 20:56:09 GMT 1, Seems like all are still available: What would be the favourites? Will there be more appreciation for those that are directly concerned with tech/ innovation/ AI, or more for those that deal with human/ philosophical concerns? I like those who are timeless. I got one - I like it and will frame it. 120x120 for this price signed by Aiweiwei is absolutly acceptable. Flippers will always complain. Go find a Hirst that size for that money.

Ai Weiwei โข 81 Questions Prints, by ck1 on Jan 12, 2024 21:28:28 GMT 1, I agree that the more human questions that are timeless are nice. I got the Knowledge/Imagination one. No interest in the farting or sex questions though I am sure they are popular. The technology questions will age poorly.

Maybe it would be a good idea to buy this one and put it behind simple glass. Time will give a vintage touch to every question of Ai Weiwei and all the questions we have always asked ourselves.

I think this will be an unexpected terrific print to have. I also think that this silkscreen is a fantastic work of art and that touching it and seeing it with your own eyes will be a pleasant surprise. I believe that Ai Weiwei launched this project and these silk-screen prints to reach out as much as possible to young people who use technology. The large size can be a little daunting. But where can you find another silkscreen by Ai Weiwei of this exceptional size and at this price?
It will be the last time we ask ourselves the question. In my opinion it will never happen again in the future.

Hi Johnny. The Virtues should be by Damien Hirst if I'm not mistaken. Those prints are very beautiful (I think they were released by Heni). Ai Weiwei rarely reaches such dimensions and it has been quite some time since conceptual art of this scale has been achieved. I could be wrong of course, I am no one to be able to affirm certainties of this kind but again, it seems to me that it is rare to see works of conceptual art of this magnitude made by Ai Weiwei.

Ai Weiwei โข 81 Questions Prints, by lukas01 on Jan 14, 2024 15:21:42 GMT 1, Every day, a boy and a girl are born. Every day, we grow and expand or fail in the world. Every year a new singer appears who sells millions of records. And every year an old singer loses some of the ground he has gained. That's life, gentlemen.
Art is not just an investment. There is always and always will be the possibility of buying the paintings of ''Mister X'' still on sale for 1,000 pounds, to resell them in 10 years for more than 3 million pounds. There are dozens and dozens of nouveau riche every day. Young people who want to create their own collections. The art market contracts in some periods. Even in history there are many examples. The art galleries of Paris dealt in Flemish art canvases. Nobody, or almost nobody, looked at the Monet, the Renoir, the Manet, but these quickly managed to conquer the hearts of new collectors. Is the art of 1700 (and later) dead? No, no death. No fear. Art collectors grow in every place in the world and in every historical period. During World War I and World War II there were closures and declines in the art world. Covid could have done the same. The Internet has saved the lives of many businesses and people. Economic contractions are always passing through and all have a limited duration. Thus, the time of economic expansion arrives. In ancient Rome there was the crisis called ''100 years''. Who remembers it? The crisis of 1929? What is 2007? Adjustments. They are always necessary.
You buy art because you like it. If then, you have invested ยฃ100 or ยฃ10,000 in a canvas and after 15 years (or more) that canvas is worth ยฃ5 million, then you will experience the intoxicating feeling that your passion and personal taste have generated further success.
Art lives, goes beyond the psychoanalysis of journalists or investors, and inflames the passion of those who collect it.
My humble thought.

Ai Weiwei โข 81 Questions Prints, by Jules Leotard on Jan 15, 2024 4:31:50 GMT 1, My .02:
When I want a particular thing by Ai Weiwei, I can't get it (I am still sour grapes on the Coca-Cola vase, but there was another I really wanted that eluded me that previously annoyed me). That happening twice is enough for me to lose interest in Ai Weiwei all together. Also, if you have seen the 'facility' or art studio he is building, I am pretty sure he is going to be mass-producing as much as the market can digest in the not-so-distant future.
These don't thrill me. They are interesting, but they fall short for whatever it is I crave in art and tbh, the framing is a bit of a nightmare and they are pumping out so many of them (and they are somewhat conceptually simple). I'm not sure when the deadline is, but I am leaning 'no' at the moment which is subject to change.

This is the first project.
*sorry for my English.
