There may be a few of these prints flipped early on (regardless of COA being withheld for 2 years) but I think the majority will find long term homes fairly quickly. In my opinion it will be like this too, we won't see many for sale in the short term and so they will become more and more precious.
Have you not seen AA drops being flipped within weeks, COA in hand or not? C.500 prints including proofs at ยฃ6k+ or whatever is a huge print dump in his market whichever way you look at.

They will be everywhere, they're not cheap and a huge overall edition drop in a Luke warm market, expect them everywhere from mid tier auctions, eBay, fairart, NAE

I reckon about 10% will be flipped pretty quickly, and if 45 - 50 hit the market at the same time it'll definitely feel flooded but once the initial furror calms down they'll be harder to pry away from people. Prob another round when COAs are issued (similar to GDP pieces).

However, like the Ai Weiwei coca cola vases, this forum seems to think everyone is flipping them. There were 300 sold and I must have seen some 10-15 go up for sale and for 3 times the cost and sell. I've held onto mine and will do for the foreseeable and I would put a bet on the fact that 80-90% will also hold. I also have some condos coming and again will be keeping them.
So enough with the negativity and assumption that everyone is flipping, as they simply aren't. The overriding majority hold!

COAs are less commonplace than youโre suggesting. Also COAs can be easily faked (as can invoices etc). However you verify/prove provenance the more documentation you have the better. Receipts, correspondence, invoices, COAS, etc. are all used to verify.

As mentioned earlier - if a print is meant to have a COA then only buy with it as this is all part of the provenance. Without it, you may struggle to resell in the future (or for not as much as you hoped). If someone says they will send it to you in 2 years, then good luck!

Now, having seen these pieces, I don't think there will be doubts with regards to real vs. fake in the future. Keep in mind theses are 21/22/33 color silkscreens on super heavy paper with incredible detailing and real texture. Hell, if I find a fake one I might buy it just to track down the print maker!

There may be an open edition to follow but itโs by no means a certainty. I personally think it unlikely but that is based on nothing other than my gut feeling.

There is going to be a timed release (like it or not) so people can wait until it happens or discuss now (before draw finishes in 3 days). 450-500 prints in one drop is large by a single artist, and sometimes the size of AA timed editions. If they do well and sell out, I'm sure in the next year or two we could see a timed edition.

If you have none then in my opinion it is a slightly weird way to announce a prediction and seems more of a flagrant attempt to get the backs up of people who are buying his latest release. There is going to be a timed release (like it or not) so people can wait until it happens or discuss now (before draw finishes in 3 days). The people entering this draw can decide if they are suffering from FOMO, then they might actually be pleased to have the chance to think about it (before dropping ยฃ6k) as the prospect of a timed release may have never entered their thoughts. โฆor we can bury our heads in the sand and pretend that it wonโt happen. โฆand I donโt know why anyone would be disappointed if they have already bought one as they obviously wanted it (or am I missing something?)
