Back to an actual Banksy: I wonder whether the recent weather has had any influence on the unprotected top part of the 'tree' wall art, meaning that any possible water-soluble paint might have been streaming in green rivers down and, hopefully, all over the crappy perspex?! Has anyone been to see it recently? |

Looks like theyโve changed the description- no longer mention of the original edition of 50 and theyโve hidden the number sold - last time I saw it, it was 76 - so loads of APs being sold with no apparent end in sight! |

Someone in the town hall (where I come from) took inspiration from Banksy's work and perhaps misinterpreted the message. In my opinion it's madness. A nearby lighting pole appears to have been taken as a reference. Whoever cut down these trees is certainly not well.

Like everything else, there are good tree surgeons and sadly also bad ones. Pollarding can look brutal, but when it's done properly, the tree should actually thrive from it. The above looks like it's been cut back far too severely (to my eye at least, but what do I know) - however, there appear to be a few tentative shoots, which might suggest that it will grow again (albeit, it may take a good while before the tree becomes strong again) - fingers crossed! We need more trees, not less.. Great comparison to the lighting pole . |
