Why is harlands market Dead? , by Eton Groover on May 3, 2024 20:05:56 GMT 1, Yet the proliferation of posters and copies doesnβt harm other artists.
Harland Miller work never appealed to me. Stylish, colourful sloganeering with zero depth, artistry or resonance.
Here Today, gone tomorrow Harland Miller

Why is harlands market Dead? , by Poster Bob on May 3, 2024 21:12:23 GMT 1, This opinion is the art market equivalent of flat Earth. Nothing to see here, and as Iβll reiterate yet again, his market is not down by any more than the average.

Why is harlands market Dead? , by Jeezuz Jones Snr on May 3, 2024 22:31:39 GMT 1, Initially all those years ago I really liked the work. But as said so many artists do the same thing. I think here in Australia there are one or two I have seen who concentrate on same theme, selling their book cover canvas paintings.
Will be interesting to see if the market or certain artists turn around this year at all?

I know itβs off way more than the art market in general. Doesnβt take a chimp to work that out.

Why is harlands market Dead? , by Poster Bob on May 3, 2024 22:43:55 GMT 1, Ladies and gentlemen, stop everything. The learned man has posted an anecdote comparing an in-season sale at the leading contemporary auction house to that of an out-of-season sale, at the worst time of year possible, at a second-tier auction house. Heβs also been posting wanted threads for said print on a regular basis.

What Iβm not prepared to do is lure myself into a false sense of security and think his market is doing on par with the overall market when it clearly isnβt.

Harland and I hold work is definitely down more than average and not coming back. The cash grab for him is officially over.

Why is harlands market Dead? , by Terry Fuckwitt on May 8, 2024 9:50:01 GMT 1, It's not for me, but this must be one of his lowest priced print releases in a while. Saying that, when you put it for sale alongside the poster, it doesn't look such a bargain. If I was Harland, I don't think I would keep releasing the big editions at this time though

Saying that, when you put it for sale alongside the poster, it doesn't look such a bargain. If I was Harland, I don't think I would keep releasing the big editions at this time though If you like his letter painting series it is definitely a more affordable option than the previous releases. Decent size, at least some screenprinted elements, and relevant to the sporting context. No idea where his market his going, but if you like it and can afford it why worry? And the poster is a very cheap option just for the image, albeit with some black text, no screenprinting and slightly smaller.
I was interested to see the Julian Opie as well, though not for me. Another colour would have been better!

I guess I should do the honours
why is there a white border on the print edition? It makes it look more like a poster than the Β£25 poster
Is Harland in touch with his market at all?
