Your opinion about his painting technique is not valid. It shows you have not put any effort in to understand the technique which is unique and shows the depth of thought and the immense resources only Hirst could bring to this project.

I'll start by saying I like the dot works and the scale of production is impressive to me - beyond the dots and my opinions of other works. BUT if I had created these or if they didn't maintain/increase in vast value, then they would in fact, just be dots on paper to you. The spin paintings are just that. Make them all individual with labels by word generators. Then when you get selected or track one down, find a way to make that descriptor work for your justifications. The formula worked so well he re-imagined and re-created it in other editions, with other names. Not the only one to do dots and not the first to amplify the meaning of their creation using lavish language and buzz words. Marketing, with a signature. |
