The Curwen Studio and the Tate Britain print group show: UK
Antony Micallef along with Paula Rego and Mark Herald have been invited to take part in the 50th anniversary celebration of the famous Curwen studios. To commemorate this occasion they will be making a special limited edition print which will be exhibited at the Tate Britain and the Tate Liverpool.
Special Limited Editions

Paula Rego - we are delighted that Paula is to create an original print especially for our 50th anniversary, which will depict the start of the studio in 1958.
Mark Hearld - this edition will reflect the company from which the studio was born - the Curwen Press. Mark's inspiration is very much influenced by a number of artists that worked with the press so it seemed right that he should be asked to cover this period.
Antony Micallef - has very kindly agreed to do an original print for us that will represent the present. He has worked with us on several occasions to create his prints.

Absolutley stunning! I think this run of 3 Laz/Micallef prints have not got the recognition that they deserve possibly due to the fiasco that followed soon afterwards with the Impure Idols release, etc and some members jumping ship from Micallef to another artist once they realised they would not be making a 'quick buck'. I think overtime these prints will stand the test of time and gain in popularity over the coming months/years with some forum members eating their words from a year ago.
