I guess though with art, you are paying for the idea and respect goes to that.
i've been tempted to do that too...thing is, you need 176 cubes to make an "alex"...which at approx ยฃ3each is quite expensive!

Agreed. But I have been thinkin about it and one way around that is to perhaps approach a pound store to order them in for you or perhaps even find a supplier in china who can order them in. However I have no doubt that purists would want to use orig. Rubik's. It's an idea to keep in the back of my head (there is a lot of space in there)

ya, i reckon gettin the cubes is the hardest part and so is perhaps gluing them. The image itself would be easy to copy. but, if i was to do it I'd make my own image. The idea is great and really not that hard to do. Take an image mess with it in photoshop to get the number of colours, reduce the image size and pixilate. Sure a few steps in between but that should a) give yo an idea of what the image would look liek and b) a map of how to do it.
Of course SI's ceramic stuff is easier to do. Agaih top marks to him/her for the idea

You could always unpeel and restick the stickers rather than trying to 'solve' the required pattern!

not long...I've not been a huge fan of the previous prints.sort of thought "whats the point"...but the alex image is fecking genius...and it has good cross-over appeal for clockwork orange fans too

Thats true, I got one for Christmas when i was a kid....couldn't do it so I swaped some of the stickers round - obvious i'd been cheating.
