Also, MJ Im not here to take sides i just think people take this a lil to far. Cos there is others on here who hold the print for a little while but then say " due to financial reasons" i have to sell but will never sell @ cost. For instance TIMBA and his life to short..

Dface Ha Ha Ha Not So Superman Print, by snakes on Oct 3, 2008 17:06:43 GMT 1, didn't think i would like it until i saw it up close. great colours and detail. Same here wasn't expecting to get one but took the reserve number just in case. Wonder if they'll release the rest of the dface vs superman pieces as prints to make the story.
would not bloody surprise me; it would be rude to turn down a nice little earner wouldn't it
(it could be the new street improvements collection)..

Dface Ha Ha Ha Not So Superman Print, by theb on Oct 3, 2008 17:12:30 GMT 1, See the thing is for some of us in the states that really like the Superman image, who couldn't make it to the show, like myself would be willing to buy it from someone in the forum, but the idea of someone waiting in line just to flip it makes it much less attractive then someone who just made the decision that at the end of the day their wife, spouse, significant other just didn't like it and now they have to get rid of it.
Besides, this is a community of people with a shared passion for the work not just for making an extra buck.

If you mean selling it on at a profit, agreed. If you mean rubbing members' noses in it, because they were unable to attend the show, I think it makes them not only profiteers (not an insult, just an observation), but also quite disresepectful to the source of a great deal of the knowledge they have acquired of this genre, not to mention information leading to their purchases and collections (or profit margins, as the case may be). I'm not opening myself up to the whole rights/wrongs of flipping here, as I know I'll offend and be abused, but I am suggesting that posting such items on these boards takes the piss a bit imho (I'll shut up about it now, I promise). I'm also suggesting it's unproductive for vendors seeking a cash deal, as the same buyers are already watching the items on ebay, so why bother with all this bickering when it's unlikely to affect the bottom line? I honestly don't see the point unless seeking a swap deal, which changes things a little as ebay is no longer an option.

Dface Ha Ha Ha Not So Superman Print, by Existencil on Oct 3, 2008 18:51:29 GMT 1, I think it's fair if somebody wants to sell their print. At the end of the day, he's had the ingenuity to get down to BRP and grab a print. People have to have an interest in street art to be able to make these kinds of purchases and sales. Fair play. How many people have purchased gig tickets from Ebay at inflated prices and had a great time at a show they would otherwise have not seen?
Incidentally, my Superman print is on Ebay - actually the only one up at the moment...

From your listing: "This is a fantastic opportunity to get your hands on a low edition DFace print before his prices go beyond the affordable."
Just out of interest, as you're clearly in it for the money, why don't you wait until the "prices go beyond the affordable" and sell it then? - you'd make more money!
or is that just bullshit and you know that the highest prices are generally in the first 24 hours after release and prices go downhill from there - see Nick walker show prints for example...

Dface Ha Ha Ha Not So Superman Print, by Sundowner on Oct 3, 2008 20:01:48 GMT 1, Just to be clear guys, I meant buying and selling on at a profit, not rubbing people's noses in it!
Incidently, both Superman prints that have sold in the last 24 hours on evilbay have gone for ยฃ600 (ยฃ150 and ยฃ250 below their two BIN prices).
To be fair to MJ, given that this print was only available on the night, there will be a fair few people that want it that couldn't go or weren't one of the chosen few........I just think that trying to sell it on for ยฃ1,250 with a free plastic card and a D*Face balloon less than 24 hours later is taking the p*** a bit.
The next Banksy release could be interesting.......if people think they can get at least 3 x what they paid in 24 hours by putting on ebay then the market will get flooded very quickly.

1000% gbh. I think if you want to go to a show and buy a print to make a quick profit you would be better sticking it on Ebay rather than on a forum that is supposed to be for people who actually like art.

What does this mean?
Does it mean that you're amongst the day trading Mayfair massive?
This is supposed to be an art forum, if you wanna flip Art then flip it, there's no crime there, just don't pretend to be something you are not (I'm a bagger but shit at it). 'Collection'? nonsence.
My view (and I'm entitled to it, since my relatives fought for it) is that these images are shite, waste of money and time if you queued, this forum certainly aint the place it was, too many takers, we are the architects of our own misery.

Looked around the show, came back, saw that there was only 4 people in the queue. Waited 5 minutes and picked one of these up at about 19:15. For anyone that lost a nights sleep to get one of these prints, i unfortunatly have to say that it was unneccessary.

Dface Ha Ha Ha Not So Superman Print, by Sundowner on Oct 3, 2008 23:13:22 GMT 1, I'm with you trasbash - turned up at 5.50pm, got given one of the last golden tickets, wandered round the show and then bought the print about 7pm.
I have to say, I thought BRP did a good job of organising the demand for prints - I thought it would be mayhem, but by asking people outside who actually wanted a print and then giving them the ticket, this meant that things were done fairly.

There were a ton of people waiting around at 7.30 for the prints to go into freefall. I had one of the last tickets and just walked into the crowd to claim my print. It's a far, far better way of working and something Leonard Street could learn from. The last Beejoir release was a nightmare of disorganisation and chaos.

Previously it has been discussed and discussed and it's clear from the general feelings over the years that flippers are scum and not welcome here (several have been hunted out of town by lynch mobs), that's why all the flipping has been on ebay and the flippers maintain an arms reach distance/hide behind their ebay user names. but now absolute and blatant flipping like this feels it can just come right out and post in the forums balls and all? fuck
this joint has really gone to shit In my opinion, if you don't get what I'm saying or agree, you are probably part of the reason why. welcome to the forum.
