DFACE - RARE Dog Save The Queen (union jack) canvas, by pfffffffffft on Nov 14, 2008 17:32:56 GMT 1, I bet you cant find one at 5K or less. Will not happen. I see it this way... If one has sold for 6k, plus consider the worsening state of economic affairs, chances are good that we may see 1 of these selling in the 5k range. And, that's when I'm a buyer. Sometimes, you gotta be patient and let the market come to you.
Don't hold your breath.

Wouldn't think of it. I never do. And, I applaud your optimism.
However, I'm a realist. I've seen people sell things they thought they never would, during dire times, for whatever amount a buyer was willing to pay.
So, if nobody is willing to pay 1 red-F-ing-scent... I'd say my bid of 4.5K-5K, would look very attractive standing alone.

It can go to proper auction with no reserve, for example bonhams, and find 1 red f-ing cent.
What you fail to recognize is one of the few artists in urban art that has consistently continued to sell while many lots go unsold in this economy is D*.
However, using your logic if anyone has a Banksy original with papers for 20K USD please let me know.

Failure?!.... Hardly!
However, what you should be cognizant of, is...
Although he's had pieces that have sold, they are selling at a fraction of the price in which they should command.
And, to further counter your rebuttal...
The only artist in this genre that continues to sell at ever increasing prices is, Shepard Fairey. An artist that seems to have no shortage of detractors, on this board.
Mainly, because he's American. And, surely not because of his stencil abilities. Which is/are 2nd to none.
And for the record, I'm an enormous fan of D*'s work. So big, in fact, I've spent a good portion of my '08 earnings on his pieces specifically.
And the same goes for Shep's work, as well.
...I'm a proud collector!

For the most part, I had.
Decided to designate 95% of my time on this forum, to the sale/trades board.
I figured it would be more business oriented, and less bullsh!t.
It gets blandly repetitive when it's constant b!tching and moaning, with the little else said.
So, I remain here.
