i don't blame you actually. i mean if someone wants to pay $3k for a print that costs $45, go for it! I think that once he wins the primaries, demand will be even higher...

Be aware that some of the prices are false due to bid sabotage and ObeyGiant trying to find out who is selling/flipping them.
He is forecast to win the nomination so it could be a bit of history you have there.

obey obama prices?, by Guest on Feb 20, 2008 16:31:39 GMT 1, Its very awkward to gauge prices at the moment. anything between ยฃ500-ยฃ750 but that will change depending on the political outcome, then who knows. if he looses the price will fall, but if he wins prices are bound to rise. at the end of the day, if your buying for a investment go for the progress print. If you just like the image, maybe get the hope offset print for less.

I'm not that familiar with eBay but, when I buy stuff I get an invoice from the seller with their details so it's pretty easy to see who owns it.

obey obama prices?, by Michael Jacob on Feb 28, 2008 14:34:58 GMT 1, BONGO, I can tell you why I like the print. First off, Im American. I have only voted once in my life and it was for Bush last time. At the time, it seemed like the right thing to do. He started a war, and I wanted him to finish it. Looking back now, I was terribly wrong in my assessment. What we have done is wrong. In the process, we have alienated ourselves with the world. Kind in mind, this current war is not the only problem we have, but it sure captures the essence of who we are.
Almost everyone I know agrees, we need change. We need HOPE and we need PROGRESS. That brings us to Obama and the posters. Not only is Obeys artwork nice to look at, the choice of words inspires hope to the many people out there looking for it.
Hillary or McCain dont bring the same inspiration to the table.
Right now, eveyone is hyped up on Obama. As with everything it will pass, but for now, he's all we have.
I live in Ohio and we vote next Tuesday. I live in a very republican neighborhood. I have not seen a single Clinton or McCain yard sign. There are many Obama ones up and down the street. I think Hillary will bow out after Tuesday.

obey obama prices?, by melmoth on Feb 28, 2008 15:16:33 GMT 1, Just to add to what crazyjake just said. I am a Brit living in the US, so my viewpoint may be slightly different. However, I would say that Obama is a genuine political phenomenon. Due to his lack of political experience he should have been, by all consensus opinion, have been soundly beaten by now by Clinton. However, he has tapped into a wave of American sentiment for change. Clinton has not been able to prevent his progress, and I don't think that McCain will either.
Now, what he will actually do if/when he becomes President is another issue, but for now he is very much symbolic of the desire for change. That's why I think the iconic imagery has become prevalent for him, and not for the other candidates.

Words and inspiration are one thing, action is another. Obama has not proven himself a leader by any means, more like a motivational speaker. Keep in mind Obama voted "present" more then 100 times to avoid having a voting record.
In California we had recall election for the office of Governor, the candidate that won swore he would make change and progress to California, he said that he wasn't politics as normal and would be able to run California better then the politicians in the past because he wouldn't be subject to answer to anyone. Arnold has run this state into massive debts and has put California into a worst state of affairs then before. After he got re-elected he essentially made the statement that he wasn't going to be able to change the way California ran like he promised.
I have a really bad taste in my mouth for people who promise hope and change in politics, especially for candidates who do not have a proven track record of leadership.

Will Obama do better? who's to say. I do think that electing a minority president will at least symbolically put us in a better position with the Mid east...
as far as the print itself, I have one but bought it for the historical value not because i want it on my walls. I also bought a Time magazine and wall street journal after 9/11...

obey obama prices?, by jam on Feb 28, 2008 18:14:23 GMT 1, There is no positive spirit to be found when Bush's name is mentioned. To think he has protected the US from an attack is off base to say the least. He has done nothing but to act as a catalyst for any future terrorism that is directed at the US by causing such disruption in the Mid East and drawing such a line between Muslims and other religions. Iraq is an area that will breed dissension and militant groups for years to come, and regardless of an immediate withdraw or one 50 years from now, they are destine to slip into a civil war and sort things out for themselves... so the epicenter will effectively have been based on Bush's policy and decisions. The ramifications for Bush's blunders will haunt the US and the world for decades to come.
