you will see that he is an illustrator and artist, paul insect is exactly the same so dont blast this 'art critic' mumbo jumbo all over his work as thats not what its about

Infact i dont understand why people call what d*face, Eine, walker and banksy do 'art' anyway... They are street stencils, fun and thought provoking images on any media. Its called Urban art but thats the wrong word for it IMO. If you want art, then you are wanting to be pointed in the direction of Neate, Micallef and Damien Hirst

Cant say if i liked it or not, was sort of like lots of little seeds which popped.
undecided on that one, but hookers - well you cant go wrong. Apart from in Thailand, it gets a bit wrong there but you just ignore it and carry on.

I do enjoy some of his images, but this type of thing leads me to believe that he's far more interested in developing his brand and the commercial success that brings, than he is in developing his style and challenging himself through his work. (Yeah, I read your artist / illustrator comments Jboy, but in truth I don't get too caught up in things I don't understand - the lines between artistic fields seem to blur a lot to my untrained eye, so I stick to what I like and am able to appreciate, which is a subject I understand well - and I have bought from illustrators, just as I have artists). Whether it's design, illustration or fine art or street art doesn't matter to me, what does, is that Dface seems too often to paste up the same old images and rarely shows off much creative flair, which I find very boring. If I were a bigger fan of his before now, I think I would have seen enough and tired, which hasn't happened with the likes of Banksy, Neate, Choe and many others, because they tend to achieve some sense of challenge and progress in their work that keeps me interested as a spectator and proud and satisfied as a collector (cough cough - allbeit a very small-time one indeed).
This is not meant as a dig at those of you who have supported D, or at the man himself. Simply a considered opinion that open-minded fans of his may be able to appreciate as a contrasting point of view. I certainly don't doubt that D has talent, just that he doesn't do enough imo to share that talent and reciprocate the generosity of his supporters in kind.
