If this is the bit where everyone jumps down my throat and tells me of all the great things Vazie does for the scene and charity then please don't bother. Some of us live in a world where making ends meet is difficult and maybe we wanted a little something of the exhibition (I didn't as it happens) even a postcard. Going to New York is certainly not an option in my wildest f**king dreams so it was never a question of ' making the effort'.

I am not some rich b**ch despite what you may think but an avid Banksy fan which I have been now for almost 10yrs.
I just wondered How many UK people actually went.
I know it was difficult for a lot me included the worst time for a show anywhere in the world.
While in NY I only met a few English people who had no idea of who Banksy was.
And for some who may never have seen me post on here before Most who go to the shows know I have been around a fare few yrs i think i joined in 2006 if I remember.
Mind you if I get this sort of reaction may have to stop posting again ;D ;D
Oh well what do i expect it is Halloween after all ;D ;D ;D

A fantastic show (loved the sound track!). I guess we're lucky enough to be able to head off on these missions at relatively short notice. Especially for this show as I think seeing this 'work in the flesh' was really what it was all about.
I personally find it difficult to compare this to our experience in Bethlehem last year but that was quite special.
I'm poised to see where we may end up next

For me it was my first time in NY and I have to agree with you a great city.
Lots of really friendly people.
I was blown away by the size of the Rats.

I run a graphic design firm - took lots of my staff designers to the show, too. It was a real treat. We're so privileged to experience it in our back yard. They LOVED it. In fact, 2 weeks ago we had a class of about a dozen 8th graders come to our studio for a meet n' greet and we pursuaded them at the end of the tour to walk with us over to the "Pet Shop" - needless to say, we left them wide-eyed and smiling! Not sure if that was the wisest thing to do to a bunch of impressionable american youth you know, animatronic caged monkeys having a bit of a "feel and all, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. Whenever we showed up there were always at least a dozen people milling about. What a great show!

Yeah it was ok, was it great, no not really, but I am glad that it wasn't the same old that we've seen from Banksy of late. It was a good move, it was an attempt to create something other than the old stencils, and I liked it, up to a point. I suppose what I just didn't connect with was what I felt was an attempt to distance himself from so called "urban art" and come close to the contemporary fold. It was fine, but seriously, who ever missed it, don't feel bad, you saw the you-tube, it aint much different folks.

Nice to see that piece featuring Thomas the Tank on his site. Unfortunately, recognition is about as far as I can take that composition since I'm not a train expert but i do hope this description from wiki offers a lead:
"he has generally been depicted with a cheeky and even self-important personality. He believes that he should be more respected by the others, and he gets annoyed when he does not receive this respect.
He is aware of his fame in the real world,..."
Or I've simply had a good Friday night and am looking for any excuse to hope that more is soon to follow.

The young girl shouting "how could they put a cheetah in a pet store!" and then slowly realizing that they also sold pet chicken nuggets. The whole prank was genius and being able to chat with others who felt the same way was really great, thanks Banks.

It would be interesting to see the numbers of UK people that went compared to those that went to Bethlehem back in December.
Maybe not everyone can afford to fly to new york or has the ability to just drop everything, some people have work or family commitments.
