Nick Walker AP's on Hipart, by Guest on Nov 12, 2008 12:11:46 GMT 1, IMO the best APs are the ones that differ significantly from the generall release.. Some of my fav's include the pink J&J, Jagos Botanix, MauMau Always worth more if they differ but if they are the same as the release I wouldn't pay any more for one
I agree mate, If they are the same all I want is the image not A.P written in the corner. But i know some people like the exclusivity of it, or missed the normal edition.

Nick Walker AP's on Hipart, by onemandown72 on Nov 12, 2008 12:12:51 GMT 1, I think the main issue with AP's is transparency around what you are buying. More often than not the impression is that an AP is different from the main print run, more unique and therefore more special, ergo it commands a higher price. My worry is that too often AP's aren't actually that different, if at all, from the original run and this should be made clear, or at least again reflected in the price. I have no idea as to how different the AP of Ratatouille is, but if pretty much the same then should the price be so much higher? Probably not so this should be buyer beware and do you're home work prebuying, ask about what makes the AP special before buying. In all fairness to Hipart here, they haven't come on and started the thread and bigged the print up, so this is in no way a dig at them and good luck on selling them.

Nick Walker AP's on Hipart, by toothfairy on Nov 12, 2008 12:30:46 GMT 1, Thanks PUD, I am all the more wiser about AP's now. 20x AP's doesn't sound so bad after your comment about the availability of the standard edition.
Thanks for the PM Ronhill, have decided not to go for it as I agree something different or hand finished would have been nice.

cheers Ron...top of my xmas list ;D can't really comment on the number of AP's released as the artist decides this, but do agree with Pud that the overall edition of 115 compared to Walker's past releases has to be applauded.
There's also an assumption that cost price of the AP we have was the same as the standard run...which it wasn't
anyhoo, it's a low numbered artist proof .....and offers are welcome. maybe wait for Panamababe......she might undercut me the saucy mare ...but I doubt it Now...back to my cheese and pickle sandwich.
